Well realistically a tour is not going to have more than 1-2 iconic looks. For example, does anyone know what Madonna wore besides the cone bra on tour?

 

And with that said, she's already achieved that with both the Loewe Venus-Hands catsuit and the Mugler Bee Outfit, so why not change as many looks as possible at this point? Not to mention, the very act of debuting so many looks is iconic in and of itself.

 

And as I understand it, Beyoncé is getting all these looks for free, so why not?

I understand though...about the posting only looks. I'd love at least some of the videos to have audio. That one professional compilation was too good.

I understand what you mean but the tour will be iconic for the fact that it was such a fashion extravaganza. And the outfit for the POTS section, the original ITG outfit and the original PURE/HONEY outfit will all be memorable if you ask me. Also, a lot of the props on this tour like the robot hands, the horse and the shell will be memorable as well so yeah this tour wipes the floor with those Madonna bras.

I don't see it as being that serious, or that they are making "such" an effort to make her into a fashion icon. She already is, even if she's not an icon for trendy, wearable fashion but simply having a "Beyoncé" look.

 

And aren't they letting the outfits speak for themselves? They're merely posting them, no caption, no info, no artistic statement accompanying them. What more... or less, could you do to let them speak for themselves?

 

Keeping in mind she's getting these for free, of course there's going to be an understanding that she herself will post the looks. And once you start doing a post per new look, you kind of have to continue doing it until the end or it looks weird.

Those bras inspired the renaissance tour, not too much now

I'm all for her taking as long as she needs to fulfill her vision, and I'm sure the scope of what she's working on is HUGE, but I do think she could've very easily visually enhanced the era up a tad bit with some minor adjustments.

 

a) For a conventional Pop star, the BMS and CI visuals before the main visual would make sense. But I can give Bey grace because we have no clue what her overarching theme is for the visual. Assuming it's something hyper-specific or out of this world, putting out standalone videos is the equivalent of coming in before the beat. 

 

Even if the videos aren’t anything groundbreaking, the reality is that the film (as a whole) is almost certainly gonna live on a streaming service. So, much like Lemonade and BIK, she uses a handful of standalone visuals to plug the main visual film upon its release. To have a YouTube presence of sorts. Again, she shouldn’t come in before the beat.
 

b) Now, this I agree with. There’s no excuse to have not pushed Alien Superstar or America Has A Problem etc on radio. Or specific formats (like Urban). There were so many easy wins available that didn’t require to personally raise a finger outside of what she’s doing on tour. Very annoying. 

All these fumes about her posting fashion looks and switching things up but is the theme not supposed to be BALLROOM? Like Ballroom is fashion, self expression etc. You can dislike some of the fits but I think some of the critiques are baseless. 
 

Not every look is gonna be IT but when she hits she HITS. I’m personally happy to see all these looks on my timeline and sometimes she highlights a designer I’ve never heard of.

I think it's clear based on the fact that Beyoncé was filming BREAK MY SOUL after the song was released that she intended it to be consumed as music-only first, and that part of the reason for this would be to have people experience/relate to the music not the visuals which she has really not done for a lead single since 2011 (Drunk in Love, Formation, APESHIT, Spirit/BIGGER, all debuting alongside videos).

 

Thus, it would seem that she was holding the same strategy for the rest of the music, as well as a reason why even when she could have released BREAK MY SOUL or CUFF IT she chose not to, in order to further this "music-first" experience that actually harkens back to the way people consumed and related to music in the 1970s/early 1980s, which this album majorly draws upon. This "renaissance" of experience seems partially integral to the project, and part of the amazing factor to its success: people really enjoy the MUSIC without the trappings of pop marketing, without being "sold" it through expensive videos, or being given choreography to replicate, etc.

 

And don't you think it's going to be SO exciting when you finally do see, after year(s) [lol], CUFF IT's music video? It'll have the effect of some long-lost piece of an iconic artwork that is now discovered and available to the masses. I find it iconic, exciting, and kind of brilliant.

You are thinking way too deep into this. THIS tour will indeed be iconic for actually doing something completely different and not doing the regular same looks for every show. She was definitely bored with that and just wants to play with fashion. Nothing as deep as you suggest about her wanting to be painted as a fashion icon. Plss

Plus she's sort of been working up to this... with MCSWT adding new looks here and there, with Formation adding them more frequently, and if I remember correctly, OTRII adding them even more frequently.

 

Plus it's worth it even just for one video compilation of every look that Parkwood will inevitably make (but maybe not release).
