I absolutely love BMS, it’s one of my favorite Beyoncé songs. I was indifferent at first, but it really has clicked with me

Same here. I just know it’s gonna destroy me when I hear it live for the first time :gaycat6:

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

im so glad i havent seen mama africa jokes in months

The whole discourse behind BIK was ridiculous and had little to zero substance, literally jobless individuals trying to make viral tweets to take down the “capitalist vulture culture” Beyonce, only then to promote some tired vibrator in the replies of their hit tweet. Give me a break:clown:

She’s either not doing enough for her community or she’s pandering, those weirdos will never be satisfied. BIK did what it needed to be done, and that was push afrobeats to the forefront and having an empowering message for all ages to resonate with. I love the gift and I love the film, you can tell it was a passion project made with love.

those were the dark ages.

the fact she gave us EIL + OTRII after Coachella, then spent that whole year focusing on TLK :ace:

only redeemable points of that era were Homecoming Live and putting Lemonade on Spotify

So, are the visuals just scrapped? Is there any news or hope for them to actually be released? Genuinely asking :deadbanana2:

Bey told me on our coffee date that shes waiting for the right moment to release them. She really liked how Black Is King revived The Gift a year after its release, so shes thinking maybe for the 1 year aniversary of Renaissance. But shes not sure.

Don't listen to Chriz :dies:

There were never any music videos, the teaser that you saw is actually for the storyline of the tour backdrop! So if you want to see 'visuals' you will have to attend the tour in order to experience them.

Unpopular opinion but I feel like BMS wouldve benefitted the most from a performance. I think Bey could really take it on another level with adlips and such :jonny5:

You want a Jay Z feature?

In tears...

Regardless of what song was lead, I think a trick (Success wise) was missed by not having more than 1 pre-album songs. Harry/Taylor can afford that with their massively active bases, Bey would of hugely benefitted by giving multiple songs the attention of release pre-album. But then again her and the team would of pushed Church Girl and Summer Renaissance  :priceless:

Although BMS feels like the obvious lead once it clicked, I can't ignore my first reaction across hearing the music on the album. BMS felt dated and kind of lazy.

In an ideal world I think something like

Cozy- Reintroducing her with a completely different, minimal, contemporary house sound and a legendary second verse.
Break My Soul- Double's down on the dance aesthetic to build a theme with the album. This time a big retro house track, which in the context of Cozy feels like an intentional homage versus a lazy comeback.
Alien Superstar- Pushed as the single the 2nd single alongside the album launch on July 29th, with all playlisting focused on it.

One of the things that annoys me is that between Break My Soul and Cuff It, there is no obvious tone to the album if this is all you've been exposed to. It would of nice for her to build mini-soundscape before the album launched to help brand the era for the GP.

They are, the visuals are coming at a later date as stated. There's not a single thing that alludes to them being cancelled, just the same way that the tour not being announced in 2022 didn't mean that the tour was cancelled

Question for the culture: is trolling different than joking because I don't think anyone was actually trying to convince people the visuals are for the tour backdrop :rip:

although let's be honest, it's about to be SEVEN months since the teaser so who tf knows? she could've absolutely kept that to herself until later.

i feel like 2021 was worse than 2019. 2019 had homecoming while 2021 was radio silence :zzz:she didn't even chart 1 song

agreed and the only song we did get that year was one of the biggest let downs ever :rip:

but she redeemed herself in 2022

The gift was a side project that she wasn’t even singing on every song on. And it was African themed and ppl are so ******* racist I never expected it to do that well, maybe now that - thanks in part to the gift - afrobeats has more exposure it would do better but it still has the whole Disney lion king theme that holds it back. People dragging it or even Stans disappointed with how it charted weren’t looking at the big picture. EIL was the real disappointment lol. 2021 was tougher we got nothing but ivy park, felt like I was in the navy :weeps:
