in terms of radio i have no idea how AHAP will do but i have a feeling it will be carried by streams

It might be an urban hit.

If she pushes Church Girl, I hope she uses the Back That Ass Up mashup :lmao:

I wouldn’t be mad @ a COZY/GROWN WOMAN mash up at the RWT, especially with ballroom elements involved and trans women as dancers.

AHAP about to outstream Break My Soul daily is sending. BMS doing 500K daily a mere 8 months after release is :deadbanana4:

I knew the song wasn’t that GP friendly, but wow the performance is quite bad. Era could’ve been much bigger had she picked a different lead (albeit BMS does not work as an album track and really only gives single or not on the album).

2017, the year of Sir and Rumi. he pregnancy announcement and birth announcement photoshoots were truly a cultural shift, up there with the Solange wedding photo.

This picture was so perfect. I know she has it framed somewhere.

In hindsight, sometimes I do wish she went with another lead single (or no lead single at all) - and just sent Cuff It to radio on album release.

Eh. It was a cute warm up. It legit introduced her back to the charts. That can't be denied. But there's clearly better on the album.

We should be so lucky. How many artists put their all into one song only for the album/era to be forgotten?

I'm glad Bey has multiple potential top 10s and #1s. She just needs to push them. Alien Superstar and Heated are still here.

No one saw Cuff It though. I do know that Bruno gravitated towards it on first listen. But thats his style.

It picked up over first listen favorites. Even the fans of the song in official thread thought it lost its chance at going top 10 becasue the holiday competition was so strong.

It got her a number 1. So let’s just be happy about that.

Unpopular opinion but I feel like BMS wouldve benefitted the most from a performance. I think Bey could really take it on another level with adlips and such :jonny5:

i think bms was a great taste of what renaissance could offer, i feel like had it been another one of the bigger songs like alien superstar or cuff it, the era wouldn’t experience the longevity it does now. bms, in the grand scheme of the album, isn’t a crazy standout or a lowkey song. it simply establishes the mood for the record and era (if we’re calling it that) i think it was the best choice for a lead

The era would've been better if she acknowledged it.

As great as RENAISSANCE is doing, its numbers would be 3x better if she had a better rollout overall.

It's not the music, it's Beyonce.

Facts!!

BMS doesn't deserve the disrespect. It was the perfect lead single: introduced a new sound and represented perfectly the escapist themes of the album. It's the kind of track that only works as a lead.

Oh yeah for sure. I think people will change their mind on songs when the tour starts.

Yeah it was an obvious single choice from the first listen.

Thank goodness Cuff It did take off though :clap3: following in the footsteps of B Day when Irreplaceable swept in and saved the era

So the Verizon presale allows you to get a glimpse of the maps for some dates.

I just went to take a look at the questionable dates Nashville, Louisville, Kansas City…. I’ll wait until the general sale to get the full picture but I am definitely concerned. Those dates still have a lot of VIP packages available that were mostly cleared out in other more diverse markets. And I can tell that a lot of sections have a lot of tickets left. That’s a clear indicator that the demand is very soft for those dates. The presales is where you’re supposed to sell most of your tickets.

She either has to get those prices way down which I’m sure she will. Or it’s time to generate some buzz with visuals. These dates are going to need a lot of work.

Im sure she will pull it off in the end but it’s gonna look rough for a while for some dates.

Don’t get me started on Minneapolis either :gaycat6:

LOL so I guess Church Girl & Summer Ren are the "Ring The Alarm" v. "Freakum Dress"  fight for the second single, and Alien Superstar is the "Upgrade U".

Agreed, but what’s crazy is it doesn’t seem like it was on Parkwood’s radar at all :rip:

I remember there was a Daily Mail article that came out an after the tracklist reveal saying Columbia thinks ALIEN SUPERSTAR is the best next single pick. Then when album came out they split the album tracks playlisting pretty evenly, but SUMMER RENASSIANCE was the #1 on TTH. Then like a week later when Alien Superstar showed signs of virality they replaced SR with it. Then ofc the random scrapped CHURCH GIRL radio release :deadbanana4:

Crazy to think that had the TikTok dance not happened, CUFF IT may have joined the list of “should’ve been a single” picks in her discography :deadbanana4:
