I remember there was a Daily Mail article that came out an after the tracklist reveal saying Columbia thinks ALIEN SUPERSTAR is the best next single pick. Then when album came out they split the album tracks playlisting pretty evenly, but SUMMER RENASSIANCE was the #1 on TTH. Then like a week later when Alien Superstar showed signs of virality they replaced SR with it. Then ofc the random scrapped CHURCH GIRL radio release 

 

Crazy to think that had the TikTok dance not happened, CUFF IT may have joined the list of “should’ve been a single” picks in her discography

Totally agree. I just hope the album continues to pull okay numbers until she's ready to pop back out closer to May. Still doing better than expected just by showing up to the Grammys. 

 

I really wish Bey would go harder. But it's silly to expect someone at her age to pull what Weeknd, Harry and Taylor do.

I knew the song wasn’t that GP friendly, but wow the performance is quite bad. Era could’ve been much bigger had she picked a different lead (albeit BMS does not work as an album track and really only gives single or not on the album).

I feel like AS would’ve been the perfect lead single and the streaming numbers would’ve been miles better 

Break My Hole was the only choice for a lead, and when it came out I was working two jobs and finishing grad school so I definitely NEEDED that vibe

The lead single doesn't need to be the biggest song, and Beyoncé is not new to this concept. See Irreplaceable, Halo and Love On Top.

Those dates still have a lot of VIP packages available that were mostly cleared out in other more diverse markets. And I can tell that a lot of sections have a lot of tickets left. That’s a clear indicator that the demand is very soft for those dates. The presales is where you’re supposed to sell most of your tickets.

 

She either has to get those prices way down which I’m sure she will. Or it’s time to generate some buzz with visuals. These dates are going to need a lot of work. 
 

Im sure she will pull it off in the end but it’s gonna look rough for a while for some dates.

The lead single does however have to be palatable enough to the GP for them to wanna check out the album. Part of the reason why initial reactions to Renaissance were so polarizing/negative, was because BMS wasn’t a good primer. Folks were already ready to hate/be critical.

I’m not worried about any of the dates yet. I think it will sell once the tour starts and people see videos, but I could be wrong.

When I look at Ticketmaster it shows the possibility of buying seats for shows and I’m really confused cause I thought you had to wait for the access codes, meanwhile anyone can buy tickets 

BMS doesn't offer anything new to the table but it's a GREAT song.

 

Alien Superstar however, if that was the lead single I would have PASS OUT on first listen 

Ngl I would love a rapyonce album. But it has to be a specific sound. I need Apesh*t tracks and less Top Off vibes.
