Not Cuff It hitting 400 mil on Spotify and people saying it took her long enough, i swear this site discredits EVERY SINGLE THING she does, it's so crazy

 

An artist 25 years into her career, without visuals, without performance, without promotion reaching 400 mil is not impressive?? I cannot with these bottoms on here.

The thing that Diana has that Beyoncé doesn't is just how IMPORTANT she was to the furthering of Black female voices/faces in pop music. Of course Beyoncé has made her strides and used her fame to directly champion issues, but Diana will always be a legend not only for her hits, impact, success, talent and fame, but for doing so in an era where segregation was very much still present and breaking through to white audience while giving black audiences visible representation in the media of the day.

 

This is more a time thing than something she could do that Beyoncé could not, but it's absolutely an important factor to the respect and awe that people of that generation must have for her, especially like that lady said...she wanted to be her...she was an example to look up to, not just an example...the example pretty much.

Renaissance has done wonders for Beyonce's streaming power.  I expect her next project will be even stronger on streaming.

 

Although I feel unahppy about it, the radio silence this ERA will be really beneficial to her next release, people are hungry for her projects.

Bey is way more famous than Diana was. And for a longer time too. Bey is on year 20 as a solo pop diva; Diana couldn't even chart by year 15.

It's literally 'act i Renaissance' everywhere you look

 

Meaning that the first act of the project is called Renaissance and not that Renaissance is a project in 3 acts

I see what you mean, however, Beyoncé also shattered the standard for a pop star in her era. Before Beyoncé there was Britney, Pink, and Christina etc. Beyoncé changed the way the pop star is supposed to look. If you weren’t thin and white, it was almost impossible to become a global phenomenon in the 2000s. She did this while making music heavily rooted in R&B and contemporary R&B which is almost impossible. She made the world conform to her look and sound , creating a lane for Black women in music. Bey is literally the Mother of contemporary R&B and made it popular. The girls wouldn’t be able to get those crossover/urban pop smashes if it wasn’t for Bey. Songs like CIL, Upgrade You, Check On It etc PAVED THE WAY.

One song that doesnt get the praise it deserves is Mine  

We cant forget the culture, and societal expectations when Diana was making music, and touring.  Things were VERY different during those time periods, women had to appear differently to be taken seriously.

I was thinking this too lol. I thought it was gonna be called that and it could have been a whole studio 54 vibe/theme (which I guess she could still be doing). She could have even called it just CLUB RENAISSANCE and bring the album booklet images to life:
