This album is truly and HONESTLY the album that kind of cemented that she is truly the greatest artist that we've probably ever witnessed on a commerical pop level. Michael Joseph Jackson has NEVER created an album as sonically innovative, musically LAYERED, and intrinsically PRODUCED as this. Dangerous is the closest. The way the songs become their OWN entity....and then literally transform into something else is unheard of. If you're a producer or a student of the arts, you will recognize what she did vocally on Virgos Groove, Summer Renaissance and even the clean falsetto on Move kind of proves she's protected her voice and craft better than Whitney and Mariah did in their 40's. They lost ALL of their agility by that time, and Bey is SKATING on the Alien Superstar outro like she's 22 years old with a full throat and lung capacity. And she doesn't even BELT on the album and she is eating up everyone vocally right now. Production wise I can't even start to get my life without writing a book. But that damn 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-11 punch is UNHEARD OF!! While Thique and AIYM play a pivotal role, I think we can all agree she's capable of much more but their still ELITE level bops that Chloe Bailey and Ava Max could make smash respectively. Lyrically I think she's NEVER been more confident, slutty, sexy, flirtatious, and even a Lil bisexual (Cozy, Pure, Move). She's referencing her husband as an AFTERTHOUGHT on this album whereas her last few projects have literally been ABOUT him. And that's the biggest joy I have in this album. She's never sounded so free! Letting her hair down, putting on a tight black dress and shaking ass all night because I finally FOUND MYSELF AGAIN is what she's telling us. She's not going to divorce him until the twins are out of the house and grown, like Tina did.  I've been a STAN of this lady since I saw Check On It making the video when I was 12. To have witnessed her growth, her humility, her success, her being criticized for decades for EVERYTHING, her possible mental health issues (most artists suffer from some type, and it's no longer a stigma...I believe she suffers from extreme depression and a LOW level of self esteem a bit which is why I feel she was so codependent on that man fr years...but this is just my opinion y'all don trip I love my girl), being a mom and having UNCONDITIONAL love from them, I think this going to be the black swan moment of her career and her life as his wife. Call me crazy but the trilogy sounds like a COMPLETION of a journey. And before y'all say she wouldn't be that petty and extra to make a divorce album into a trilogy but isn't she the same one who made the most acclaimed album of a generation to reveal her truth instead of just doing Oprah? She's an ARTIST who communicates through art. She's not speaking randomly on these songs and The Dream tried to spill the tea something is happening and I just feel like if this is how she wants to write her book I'm so proud of her. Who cares about interviews and playlisting when you've reached the absolute MOUNTAINTOP. I'll always love her and I'm so happy to have had her define my childhood and adulthood life. I think it's obvious what's happening and it's okay to be in denial and emotionally blind... But I think Renaissance/Trilogy is our curtain call.

Same. I'm still so upset about this. Beyonce.com customer support taking over a month to reply just rubs salt in the wound plus the lack of any explanation. When we all know it is because they under shipped and oversold the damn thing because they were clearly unorganised. There is a thread on twitter that has hundreds of comments saying they're in the same boat.

Hmmm you haven't listened to the album correctly. He's all over it, of course in obvious ways like in POTS and Virgo's Groove but in more subtle ways, the sexual songs are all about him as well. 

 

Also there's nothing low esteem about this woman. Having a rapper tell the world he cried when she left, make an album publicly calling him out and him taking it gracefully or telling the world for the first time he was in love when he used to trash men in love just a year before because of her is not the making of a low self-esteem woman. 

 

We don't know all that much about her except that she loves that man dearly (for whatever reason only she knows), it transpires in all her art and that gave us Virgo's Groove and America Has A Problem and right now I can't be mad at that.

If you're talking about listening experience, I have to agree from my side. 

I think, although it wasn't in my top 5 or maybe even top 8, it's a masterpiece and that chorus hit very hard the first week but I gradually felt less and less engrossed by it. But I think it's the type of songs one can very easily fall back in love with. 

 

If you're talking about the GP and social media, we'll it has been viral for 5 straight weeks, that's crazy, it's difficult to keep up that level of excitement if that flame is not nourished. I do wonder if the window for the song has passed.

Yup this is what I meant. Like everyone was obsessed with it but now people are starting to appreciate other tracks now. :loud: GP still loves AS and Cuff.

Yeah this album is amazing. With the exception of I'm That Girl, every song on this album has been stuck in my head at some point. I honestly couldn't give a list a top anything (I know Virgo's Groove is the best song ever) because its so good.

I tried ranking the album but this was hard besides the bottom 3 and the top 2

Renaissance was an obvious ode to the post Black Plague world and the rebirth of art that came after it. 

I'm That Girl is way ahead of its time, still. The slander continues but it will have its revenge.
