Taylor fans still delusional thinking she is close to Adele. She isn’t  :fan: Adele doesn’t even try in the way Taylor does to sell her music, she just sells.

Taylor’s recent videos

Cardigan - 95 million

Willow - 90 million

Adele is already at 40 million after a day. :deadbanana4:

With Adele's branding I fear she'll only get stronger as she grows older :jonny4:

Congratulations to Adele.

Though this is a good indication that the only important thing for the gp is the artist and not the music itself. As long as you are popular, what you release will do well on streaming these days.

Easy On Me really is a safe and predictable song that sound like most of 25. I’m not surprised she’s already breaking records with it as she definitely is the biggest name in the music industry since her 21 era.

Or maybe people liek her because she can actually sing and like the song.

Whew, this is a lot. Ok first of all, she's not "my girl", I'm just giving facts. I like them both as artists. They're both winners. Relax luv xo

Second it's not 1995 so no one cares about album sales. CSPC is where we're at now. We measure success using a combination of album sales, single sales (digital + physical), and streaming. And in those terms, Taylor has in fact generated more revenue than Miss Adkins:

Like my post literally said, if Adele released more often she would be ahead so I'm not disagreeing with you.

But your original post was in response to someone rightfully stating that Adele is bigger than Taylor. NOT who’s generated the most revenue. The two are not at all the same.

For example, the  X-men franchise is not bigger than Titanic simply because it grossed slightly more from 13 movies compared to the single film that is Titanic. The fact that McDonald’s releases new meals more often and sells way more “product” than Apple does not mean McDonald’s is bigger than Apple.

just because Taylor releases, re-releases, publicizes, bundles, and tours way more than Adele does not mean she’s anywhere close to as big as Adele.

queen ending the world as we know it, and i'm here for our new overlord

Well, the thing is you very well could argue that is in fact bigger because it's made more $$$. That's what the industry cares about at the end of the day. Same with McDonalds and Apple. Forbes ranks companies based on measurable statistics like profits and assets. Taylor has generated more revenue. If you factor in touring, significantly, hundreds of millions more revenue in fact.

Except she won’t be taken down by accusations of pedophilia, constant controversy, insane plastic surgery and all around crazy out of touch behavior that turned Michael into a tabloid laughing stock by the early 90s before HIStory was  released.
Adeles power won’t slow down I fear. Sucks for stat and chart obsessed stans of other artists :toofunny2:.

She'll slow down eventually, but I always thought her career path would be similar to Barbara Streisand's after awhile.

Or that ATRL is completely out of touch with what the majority of the GP actually wants.

Making the Beatles look like the male(s) Adele

What a dumb comment. The Beatles would dwarf Adele in anything.

No, what the industry cares about is value of investment. Taylor is, by definition, less profitable than Adele. The amount of return from investing in one Adele album is far greater than the five Taylor Swift albums it would take for Tay to near comparable numbers. This is because the “industry” has to invest in five more promotional campaigns, five albums worth of expensive music videos, radio deals for five eras, five times the production costs, five times the price of travel for promo, five times the photo shoots, five times the man hours, effort and expense just to match the “revenue” from one single Adele album.
Adele is more valuable to the industry because she promises a much bigger bang for your buck.
Once again, the x-men franchise might have accumulated a slightly larger “revenue”, but it has made much less actual money for the studio than Titanic. This is because box office ticket sales, just like your “cspcs”, don’t factor in the income that remains  after accounting for all expenses, debts, additional income streams, and promotional/operating costs. That’s why “the industry” signed Adele to the biggest female record deal of all time. Why wasn’t Taylor’s newly signed deal comparable?

Regardless, “the industry” valuing Adele more  is not why Adele is definitively the bigger artist. The fact that she is far bigger with the general population around the globe is why she’s bigger. A far bigger percentage of her singles become certified hits, each of her albums dwarf Taylors.

adelly clarkson jackson-jackson stompity stomping as she should :WAP:

I don't get why whenever Adele releases, the Taylor comparisons come around. They're both the biggest female artists out there. They have been for over a decade alongside the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna.

There is no need to argue about who's grossed more, who's done more, etc. Let's enjoy the way they're feeding us.

As expected :clap3:

But that first Spotify 1hr Update is ugly.. she couldve snatched the biggest 1st Update as well but well

the latest Adele release shows that she is 5 leagues ahead of Taylor.

Adele's new song will debut with 10 million sps sales globally. -unheard of.

God. Can we move on and talk about other chart topics that do not involve useless comparisons with other artists?

Like, how many streams do you think the album will get first day? Considering it only has 12 tracks

That depends on whether all of 30 is available right away or if she limits listeners download/streaming to just Easy On Me, as was the case with 25 & Hello, or she gives more upfront access. If I were Adele, I would limit streams & downloads to 1 song at a time. But thats for her to decide.

Now that's impossible.

My guess would be ~120M

T1 - 14M

Easy On Me - 14M

T3 - 14M

T4, 5 , 6- 12M

T7 to T11 - 10M

T12 - 9M

She said it would be available for streaming since day 1 on Vogue.
