Which other artist has had to completely erase her album existence the day after it dropped? Like, really.

I'm not expecting Chromatica to be a smash neither ever claimed it to be so, but OGHs are doing the most on this woman :skull:

Eminem

Drake

Future

Except most of the above had promo going on, a working website, open stores and a stable nation that wasn’t plagued by a massive health crisis and violent riots.

Lover though :clap3:

chile ROM is #1 right now what are you saying:psyduck:

No it's not, it dropped four places to #5. "Rockstar" is #1 right now.

Lil baby's album had 20 tracks plus a 6 tracks bonus deluxe edition reissued on the first of May.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gaga's team re-releases the album with more tracks in the upcoming months since they did it with Rare.

Ok, so this is bad in the context of how Monsters legitimately call this kind of performance bad to every other artist. If anybody else debut #1 and fell to #5 on their album release week, Monsters will be the first in the thread. If anybody else primarily got boosted by bundles + your top streams come from heavy collaboration support, Monsters will be the first to point out the other album cuts / solo songs are absolutely bombing. If only one song was keeping an album afloat, Monsters will highlight that instead of now saying things like “Rain On Me” will keep Chromatica T10.

So yeah, in that context it’s bad. Because the fanbase has said it themselves about everyone else.

Personally can’t stop playing the album, but would like to add that despite the pandemic/riots it’s not like this album was primed to be gigantic or anything. Stupid Love was not doing good well before COVID shutdown and it isn’t wrong to realize why Rain On Me and Sour Candy will carry this album to a certification.

But this is fine for her. Lady Gaga peaked a very long time ago. BTW went from 1.1 million to less than 200,000. Artpop, Joanne and now Chromatica will “only” be Gold. She doesn’t have a string of huge, classic hits - only from her debut. She was apart of a huge freaking musical movie, that wasn’t gonna warrant 2010 slayage pandemic or not. ROM and maybe if she can manage another hit will carry this fine, though.

The album was delayed and re-started with Rain On Me already, why are monsters talking about another re-start? :dies:

Rain On Me dropped 1 spot again on Apple Music btw

AM US - #20

Those drops are actually standard for pop girls. 62% and 66% are not bad.

well if this is good than monsters should stop saying that eil (59k) and homecoming (57k) are flops since both did more than chromatica second week :coffee2:

Umm nice to know those figures. I’ve never understood why monsters continue to call Homecoming a flop.

——————

It’s not that bad tbh, it’s expected. It only looks bad if you focus on the fact that it had two top 5 hits but SL was not exactly an enduring hit.
The streams will stabilize but it is obvious that the longevity of the album relies solely on ROM and Sour Candy. Both songs need to keep pulling numbers, as of now they contribute to half of the streams of the entire album.

I wasn’t expecting Lil Baby to block the biggest pop star

i think the numbers are still decent?

Ofcourse those are decent sales considering everything, OGHs are just THIRSTY to drag since their narrative prior to the album release are in shambles :cm:

damn :rip: if she would’ve done more first week then the 80% drop would be cool but she did a measly 274k. to drop 80% from the lowest of lows is just...yikes!

is 274 measly? :bibliahh:  most of the top ten is selling under 1k this week. Let's be humble.

Not that great the second week number, but the 2-week total is still great

the people that are really doing well are doing over 300k+. harry styles and billie are deadass doing 300k+, harry doing over 400k. literally harry styles. even eminem that’s been around for decades now. and i didn’t even mention the post, drake, taylor and company because it just wouldn’t be a fair comparison.

these sales are on par with halsey and katy perry. 274k isn’t horrible for her since that’s what she’s been doing for a while but the way they amp her up on here you’d think she’d be doing more than harry styles and billie’s debut album.

and then to drop 80% from that already low number...is not good!

Girl Witness debuted with 180k, 100k less. That's certainly not on par, especially when 162 of came from pure sales. :skull:

The way you guys keep making up the false narratives. You're comparing her to artists who are in their peak or rap artists who have a significant advantage to pop artists. You realize it's the 5th biggest sales week this year despite literally everything it has going against it.

A) She postponed the era once and only had promo the week before the album after a terrible first single :deadbanana4:

B) She shut down her store 3 days into the sales week, cancelled all interviews and press, Target and Walmart closed a majority of physical stores due to lootings and protests (or they were already closed because of COVID)

C) Harry's base is literally the streaming demographic, having his breakout era. His bundles include a massive tour date and he was able to promote significantly more. :deadbanana4:

like you guys keep having unrealistic expectations for someone who at this point has posted more about political issues than the actual album she just released :rip:

All of those selling less than 1,000. I know it's streaming era but it's still so unfair.

billie was literally a new artist when she debuted with 300k+, halsey is not a rap artist either. and i said i wouldn't put her in the same league as post and drake (the rap artists you mentioned) or taylor (that isn't at her peak either way). like i said, if little monsters weren't amping her up like she's this success monster then nobody would be dragging. but all this talk to not even compete with people like harry, billie and halsey is just crazy.

a) who's fault is it she released a terrible first single? and we both know the era was delayed because she thought she'd have greater commercial success. it just backfired.

b) like i said, she could've released her album on schedule. she chose to believe that COVID-19 wasn't gonna be a thing by this time and she took her chances. that being said, i would believe you if you told me the pandemic was a factor in all of this but even with her previous album when she did promotion, interviews, stores were open and yada yada yada, she still wasn't able to sell over 300k first week. so i honestly don't have any indicator that with all of that she would've done better.

c) so what's gaga's demographic then? cause if you told me she's more of a digital/pure sales artist then i'd believe you but those aren't great either. and she has a bundle as well, which reminds me that she still hasn't given her fans their money back for those tickets that are 100% going to be rescheduled/cancelled just so they could count towards the first week.

300k opening week for a major popstar isn't unrealistic. literally anybody that has any bit of a fanbase + gp support is doing it. and we're expecting more because little monsters had us under the impression that she was this big sales + streaming monster.
