Nightmare bombed. Why?

Not sure because ATRL told me she was a main pop girl.

She is definitely a main pop girl. But not every song resonates with the GP for her. Maybe Nightmare was too aggressive for them to digest in comparison to songs like Without Me and Bad At Love. She's still fresh in promoting H3 so there's definitely more smashes from her to come.

Like they have said no to every Lana Del Rey Son

Halsey can release WM 2.0 and smash whenever she wants lmao

And yet Lana's albums always do amazing WW. :rip: She's not performing on a Top 40 scale that's for sure.

She probably figured after Without Me that anything she released would be a hit, but the geepee were not here for her rock song :psyduck:

It may not have been a hit but it fits snugly in the narrative that she’s carving for herself. Another radio-ready pop single after Without Me would’ve created some discord with her core fan base. There’s still time for a hit single to carry the album whenever it’s ready.

Because it's a completely different sound from her. Some people weren't ready for thaT.

Still one of the greatest releases this year tho

It's phenomenal and unnerving. GP wants to be comfortable. She touches on politics and they see it as preachy/pretentious.

Without Me is trap pop? :rip:

It literally sounds like a Post Malone song

All her songs do tbh.

She doesn't have the chops to pull off a proper power pop / ~rock~ hook (she sounds like a slightly annoyed kitten) or the balls to commit to the concept by using a grittier instrumental to achieve the effect. So, it's just a watered down imitation that isn't strong enough to be edgy or mild enough to be radio friendly.

It was not a good song. I've been saying this since day 1

I thought it would climb with time considering her songs always take a while to peak but i guess i was wrong :'(

Still, an amazing and kinda left-field track and was such a great thing for her to release it after an #1.

She can always bounce back anyways, just release another trap-pop catchy song and she'll be fine.

And btw it wasn't a bomb. It peaked at #15 and probably will end up 1 or 2x Platinum

I literally just posted something similar in the single thread slay! I agree it didn't commit to rock and tried to have verses on trend. In the end it sounds like a mismash with no clear direction.
