Just confirmed by local press, helicopter crash

American singer Oliver Tree and five others died in a mid-air collision between two helicopters in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, Rio de Janeiro, on Sunday morning. The Civil Police confirmed the identities of the six fatal victims, which included four passengers and two pilots.

According to preliminary reports from the Fire Department, the helicopters collided in the air before crashing into an electric vehicle parking lot on Avenida das Américas, causing at least 20 parked cars to catch fire. Five of the victims were in one helicopter, while the other aircraft was operated solely by pilot Charles Marsillac, who was described as highly experienced.

At the time of the reported crash, Oliver Tree was in Brazil as part of a world tour, having recently performed in São Paulo before a scheduled European leg. The artist, who has nearly 20 million social media followers and over 11 million monthly Spotify listeners, had posted from a music studio just the day before.

The incident is currently under investigation by the 42nd Police Precinct, with forensics requested at the site. Multiple authorities, including the Fire Department, traffic and municipal agencies, and the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), are actively working at the scene to collect data, preserve evidence, and secure the area.
