Genuine question because I'm puzzled after seeing them mad and attacking her for no good reason in a recent thread. The lady is no longer musically active and now Beyoncé can get to shine as the only dominant Black woman in the industry as they wanted for all those years, so they should be happy. The navy are virtually non-existent on here and aren't spamming Bey threads with hateful comments or making any threads about her either despite there being no better time to drag her terrible numbers. Rihanna mostly minds her business, is not coming after their fave in any way, has done nothing but sung praises to her over the years, and they're still obsessed and hateful after what is now twenty one years since they first started hating her when she debuted. Why is that? Discuss

I assume because a lot of people (either actual Rihanna stans or just stans of other pop girls hiding behind her) use her streaming numbers to drag Beyoncé

because it's a wakeup call to them that Rihanna was never the reason Beyonce hasn't been relevant

remove Rihanna from the equation and she's still performing badly across the metrics (outside the release week)

The part the hive can't seem to accept is that Rihanna arrived and became a phenomenon so quickly that she ended up overshadowing Beyoncé in many conversations about pop culture. Decades later, the general public still loves RiRi, still talks about her, and still keeps her relevant. That's why there's such an obsession with comparisons. They can't rewrite that part of history, and that's what really bothers them.

rihanna's catalog is still exploding and on the charts with 110M+ monthly listeners

beyonce still releases music, puts on spectacular performances and makes acclaimed bodies of work that win grammys 30 years into her career

both icons who are winning and should support each other honestly

No Rihanna stans are using her numbers to drag Beyoncé. There's probably just a total five of us still left on this. Them being butt hurt over other stans dragging their fave like they could just drag their faves back, why do they have more heat for Rihanna than they do for those acts. I think it probably is just that they hate her because she was able to become successful and remains relevant more than anything

I'm speaking exclusively on this site, because it's an observation I made on here. On here it's mostly been the hive and little monster tussling so I was genuinely surprised to see several of them still have such resentment for Rihanna despite no major fights between the hive and navy in YEARS.

Because Rihanna hasn't released anything for 10 years and still slaying spotify chart

Plus Rihanna has this "i don't give a fuckkk" attitude and not trying to be a goddess but people still worship her

The Hive only reacts to people using Rih's streaming numbers as a drag, saying they still "hate" her is a stretch.

I find it difficult to believe that one member is the reason for such deep seated resentment. And the particular thread I reference has no streaming numbers being discussed or any sort of stats talk or any Beyonce mention. It was just Rihanna with her partner that had them being hateful

Idk why the hive would bother coming for the Friend of Mine singer.

Rihanna did everything Beyonce did, but more successfully & her personality resonated with the public. She also did it in a manner that feels more effortless & relatable.

Bey couldn't do that, so they made a decision to do a 180 by deifying her public image, but that's not relatable & doesn't connect with anyone that isn't already on board. She limited herself with that persona & can't be humanised to the same degree, which is why she can't find the same level of success branching out with her brand ventures - it gives unattainable and inaccessible.

It irks them because their fave is still having to 1-2 step & bust her butt on stage to get Roc Nation out of debt in her 40s, while Rihanna sails down a river of success with her feet up, popping bèbès out like candy.

Doesn't surprise me, this is the same fanbase that claims Rocky cheats on Rih every 2 business days. The adoration around that couple and their popularity/cool factor seems to bother them, for some reason. I can guess why but I'll keep it to myself.

It's weird because Rih has expressed her love for Beyoncé multiple times in recent years (did it again at the Met Gala last month).

You both do the same things and downplay other Black women in the music industry, like SZA, and legends and veterans of the past and present because your faves resonated with other demographics more than they did.
