He talks about how he had been on them since he was 9 and had stopped after 25 years. He talks a lot on social media about coping with withdrawal from antidepressants.He was invited to a summit with RFK last week to discuss this. He posted on social media how he was apolitical and would do this for any administration, but that he was "honored" to have been invited by RFK. I am sure that for many people who struggle with mental health, some options may be more effective for them (like CBT). But this whole tirade and demonization against antidepressants that MAHA and New Age health "gurus" like Marianne Williamson have been doing will just cause more harm than good and oversimplifies the problem, as many health experts have already pointed out in the past. If this goes through, millions of Americans will suffer. May 9May 9 comment_29301881 Obviously a terrible thing to happen but extremely hilarious that he announced a plan to 'reduce the use of antidepressants' and the plan is just banning them. In a sane world reducing the use of antidepressants would probably involve increasing accessibility to other treatments and therapies but of course this is MAGA so everything has to be done in the dumbest, most damaging way possible.
