excellent album it feels like it takes all of the abstractions of Raven and all of the pop sounds of her most exciting songs (Bankhead, Rewind, Waitin, LMK, Happy Ending, Contact) and refines them into a beautiful indie pop-inspired succinct record. every non-single track sounds gorgeous to me on first listen but wow... Don't Piss Me Off is such an all-timer Crystalize is gorgeous too, very much a Kate Bush or Peter Gabriel or Prince type of serve!

this was pretty disappointing especislly after Raven and it's like anything she puts out is automatically met with "this is the best thing i've ever heard in my life" on this site

crystalize, idea 1 and don't piss me off are the highlights for now but i'm hoping a few songs grow because some of the album tracks sounded a bit indistinct on first listen. new life forms has got to be her worst song, it gave thank u next/sos reject and the feature... no words

Raven remains her best

snooze af... Kept idea 1, point blank, crystalize, new life forms, the bridge, if we meet again. There's no collapses like the ones in Raven unfortunately

not feeling those couple of blonde-inspired tracks (one of the most overrated albums of all time), but most of this are very good! probably her weakest tho

So, it's a pretty chill album and veeery different from her other projects. I wouldn't call it her worst cause I feel that this is her first time risking into changing her sound drastically.

Imo "don't piss me off" and "goin down" are the highlights of the album (for now)

don't piss me off, goin down, crystallize, and retaliation lullaby are really calling to me, another solid record from kelela!

Fantastic album.

I'm surprised a lot of people still don't get how much her albums creep up on you after time passes, and this is going to be no exception. For now crystalize is a standout in her catalogue.

I'm kinda shocked by the reception being so lukewarm here? I think the album is very strong and love this new soundscape for her. All the singles are highlights and then we have going down, crystalize and don't piss me off being highlights as well. I will say though this is not a summer album and would have benefitted from being released in November.

I haven't seen anything regarding this album on my timeline. Is this really a disappointment

Not her best album, but this album was approached in a different way than Take Me Apart and Raven. Still a strong effort.
