I love Doechii fyi. But Doechii has had songs with the likes of Katy Perry, The Weeknd (a Remix), SZA and now even Lady Gaga. Why have none of these singles seem to have taken off? Doechii def got some big co-signs but her biggest hits remain her solo songs.

Doechii is not an established act, yet. Why would she be able to carry anyone?

Her brand still has to grow, and she seems to have completely disappeared after her momentum.

The general public is still mad about Anxiety

Her project was hot last year but she's not a big name yet, her being on a track doesn't guarantee anything

Well she went from Tinashe reject (What It Is) to rap girl; then abandoned that to put out Anxiety, which her lack of consistent identity alienated an urban fanbase for Top 40 who doesn't care about her - just the Gotye sample. Now we're here.

She's no Nicki or Cardi - her verses suck. That Weeknd remix revealed that. Her Katy & Gaga verses are phoned in and I forgot about that SZA song but nobody wants to hear about "y'all thought I was an industry plant" from somebody nobody even really knows + moves like a plant.

So yeah, she's a chop like the other rap girls. She just happened to get a huge push then the label or she herself failed to hone that in.

Same reason why Gaga's solo songs are not taking off

Aren't these collabs mainly for her to branch out and get exposure, by artists that like her and see potential?

Like a big chunk of Gaga or Katy fans may not be her target audience but it atleast creates name recognition and probably adds a few fans down the line

Zara should be worried.

Tbh I find that a lot of her collabs + Anxiety are mid to outright bad. Her mixtape was great though, she needs to focus on putting out better songs.
