Will Ophelia sweep the Grammys?

Featured Replies

Unless Olivia or Ariana pull something amazing, I think Ophelia has at least Pop Vocal on lock, with SOTY/ROTY as possibilities (though it'd be interesting to see how it does against Choosin Texas for the general field). I don't see any other song capturing as much of the zeitgeist the rest of the year.

The album, of course, was panned so probably won't do as well.

Thoughts?

Ella Langley will be having a Morgan Wallen-like controversy and will be shut out by the Grammys

  • She better not win anything with that crappy album or else she'll continue to make shitty music like this. But they can give her the Music Video one so she won't make another video crying like she did

she clearly wants SOTY above all so i hope she gets it

The album wasn't unfortunately panned as it should've been

But Ophelia has dominated worldwide charts since first day

I hope so. Although I feel like she'll most likely vacuum. Nobody "sweeps" anymore really.

I'm torn over whether a more pop sound like Ophelia gives her a better shot at SOTY compared to something like Cardigan. We'll see I guess.

Probably yes. The Academy doesn't like Ariana unless she collabs with a critically acclaimed artist. Given that they didn't even nominate her for we can't be friends, I don't think she's a threat to Taylor.

Her only real threat is Olivia for now.

Maybe ROTY, but SOTY I don't see it tbh. The consensus feels like this was a creative regression for miss swift unfortunately

There's no way she goes home empty-handed. I don't see them awarding her AOTY based on the mostly negative reception of the album but Ophelia is objectively a quality song and a giant hit so it has a chance to sweep the song categories.

It's definitely a frontrunner for record and song of the year, but she will have tough competition if Olivia's MIN is eligible (it was released in Aug 2025, so she may be lucky that it's ineligible lol). I also think Choosin' Texas will be highly regarded next award season.

Currently I think the ones to watch for R/SOTY next year are: Ophelia, So Easy (To Fall In Love), Choosin Texas, Where Is My Husband and Risk It All. Maybe Stateside getting a sneak nom but it won't win.

How is Max Martin track record with SOTY and ROTY wins? Cause Taylor has none, so it will be up to Max.

She wants SOTY, but Ophelia seems like a bigger contender for BPVP or ROTY

None. He has been nominated for I Want It That Way, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Roar, Shake It Off, Blank Space and Can't Feel My Face. He hasn't been in the category for 10 years.

He has fewer nominations than her in both categories, and half of those nominations are for his work with her.

She has a better track record than him there, but go off toofunny3

Nominated multiple times (most of them with Taylor) but 0 wins in those categories. According to AI.

I think it became the frontrunner for Pop Solo Performance when it was released but may have fallen off. Will get nominated in ROTY/SOTY, and possibly Music Video, me thinks.

I don't think he's ever won either which is insane. They don't like bubblegum pop music. "Ophelia" has more gravitas than a lot of other MM pop songs but if "Anti-Hero" couldn't win despite Midnights winning and that ceremony happening during peak Eras mania...

The fact that they didn't give it to cardigan or All Too Well blows my mind still. So while it's deserving it probably won't win and will lose to some irrelevant garbage that Billie inevitably puts out at some point this year.

Agreed with most of this tbh

Pop Solo is basically on lock. Don't know about S/ROTY but the chances are big.
