Drop Dead seems to be gaining momentum on TikTok at least. 560k+ posts at the moment, and it's already surpassed Vampire.

But that's because there was a lot more effort from her team to promote drop dead. Vampire didn't have all that promo during its first week and, as you said, did the same numbers (even better on some days). I think drop dead will still do good numbers (especially if she gives a great performance of it on SNL). But in the long run, I don't think it's gonna hold up as well as vampire did.

I don't get why people are acting brand new. We're past the first-week motivation to get her to #1. Now the main people consuming it are fans and people organically discovering it. It's holding up extremely well.

At this point it's just speculation. We can't really make that call. The one advantage drop dead has, is that it's way more radio friendly than anything off GUTS. Vampire had terrible call out scores and collapsed the second it went to #1 on pop radio. Then the subsequent singles couldn't even make it past 12 million in general audience. Radio can help boost the longevity of a song.

People are so strange. This debuts at #1 in her home market, is a successful lead all over the world (Top10 in a lot of the major markets), and now just because it potentially could not turn out to be a mega-giga smash, people are shady and dramatic? Make it make sense.
