She needs it after the radio mess of post-Vampire (which was her teams fault). This is perrrrfect for radio and will clear the path to (hopefully) 1-2 more radio singles this era

Yes agreed. I thought one of her close friends. Dan qualifies since she usually calls him "my friend Dan" instead of her producer. She is so funny.

I feel she kind of had to move in this direction like most of the other girls to make this song more radio friendly. It's really in the production and voice processing where the changes were made. Unlike Sabrina, so many of Olivia's songs are just not for the radio. I'm sure the album will have many old style Olivia songs on it as well. Those will be the gems.

Yeah, it seem like her team is very adaptive/smart when it comes to maintaining success. The callouts and radio play on literally all 4 GUTS singles were terrible. Vampire I chalk it up to not being a summer song, but the other 3 were way too rocky to be played on the radio. They also couldn't decide to promote BIR or GHB and both suffered.

I'm fine if the entire album isn't single friendly but they need those ear worm hits ready for radio if they want to give this album mainstream longevity that guts didn't have

probably. a lot of SNL hosts appear on Jimmy Fallon and/or Seth Meyers to promote their upcoming episodes, since they're all in the same building.

I'm sure Fallon will ask "which (second) song will you perform on Saturday" etc to tease it fully.

Now that the #1 is all but confirmed, I can go back to stanning the IT girl Ella Langley next week and continue streaming Choosin Texas
