Eurodance as a genre is -finally- being revived by the indie scene in Europe, with some hints from local mainstream acts too. A global mainstream act putting its hands on it would make sense to find an identity to follow for a while.

If Pinky Up feels interchangeable to you, maybe you know more artists than me. Please provide examples of mainstream artists doing tracks like this, because I'm ready to expand my roaster and support them too

That sound isnt original it's been played out for the past 20 years and Timbaland didnt even produce the song that Flo is very clearly retreading (Buttons). You have the musical vernacular of a GPT bot if you think that it's suddenly extremely inspired to do the exact same sound 20 years later with a One Direction producer at the helm. The FLO video even plays like a Katseye video with random bits of comedy thrown in to get a couple viral tweets. They arent the only ppl doing this sound even now and won't be the last, including the girl group space:

FLO aren't as many miles away from Katseye as you want them to be considering they're also pandering to the meme'd culture of the internet to try and get clout. Even if it's a 'meta' approach to the concept theyre still doing it and not doing it very well, which is why nobody is talking about them. They're under Republic in Atlantic and you're pretending like theyre unsigned indie artists. Having some harmonies-in-thirds and some 16th note runs thrown throughout a song doesn't make them leagues ahead

Like, they already have the platform. What more do they have to prove with these stunts? I think they've realized their main audience which is mostly comprised of young kids doesn't care for those things as much as they care about the branding. They'll keep pushing these types of songs as long as it makes noise, see: Blackpink

I imagine they have a more accessible track ready to go tho

My problem is it doesnt even go far enough. The song is good as is but has more potential. The vocals are way too soft. If you're gonna go hard go hard, commit to the bit. I wanna hear even more obnoxious line delivery.

Someone just said them the demo and they didn't bother add something special. The song is underproduced.

It's really not a bad song but it's not revolutionary.
