Personally, I was more familiar with the revamped tracklist since it was the first time I played the album in its entirety and fell in love with it, but I gave the OG a listen and I adore how 1+1, I Care and I Miss You work as a 1-2-3 punch. All in all, this is my favorite Bey album, it's so musically rich and varied, with some of her best vocal performances to date so I find the two listening experiences to be incredible. What are your thoughts?

for casual fans, the revamped is better since the hits and uptempos are upfront...

OG. 1+1 is a stunning opener that says this album will be a timeless classic.

I think the revamped one flows slightly better, but tbh both have their issues (which really just boil down to her being in the transition phase between being a singles artist to an album artist).

Schoolin Life and Dance for You are essential tracks to the album though and obviously those were never on streaming with the OG tracklist, so the revamp gets a bump from them too. Now if she had gone all the way and stuck Lay Up Under Me and Dreaming on the revamp it wouldn't be a contest.

Neither. I think the album should have been arranged by ascending tempo with the slowest songs at the start and then the hardest hitting songs at the end, with the only exception being I Was Here which is a great closer

The original was better, it's how it was supposed to be heard.

If I have to go with the OG since the revamped doesn't include Lay Up Under Me or Dreaming.

I have always liked the original way better. It's the only way I listen to this album and I had to make a playlist with that version cause streaming platforms only have the revamp. Although I could be biased because that was how the album was when I first listened.

The revamped tracklist, because I don't like it when all bonus tracks are just added at the end or in the beginning. They should be incorporated in the tracklist.

Lay Up Under Me being excluded in the revamped tracklist is a crime though. Does she hate that song?

The fact that she changed everything but had to keep the End of Time - I Was Here - Run The World sequence untouched

God For You being a random bonus that was just tacked onto the album will never not send me… one of her best songs and like 5x platinum too
