A song from 2008 sounds like it was produced in 2008 and is still a timeless classic with over 2 billion streams Not a good look

Dated for sure, actually probably her most overrated song ever. The verses are so one-note (literally) and the chorus is kinda flat.

Compare to "Paparazzi", "Summerboy", and even "Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)" which all sound fresh, breezy, and timeless.

A song from 2008 having 2billion streams, you kind of answered your own question.

It sounds more current than those dated ass synths in "Poker Face" that were out by 2010.

I literally hear similarities between "Eh Eh" and this global hit that was released 6 months ago.

Definitely not timeless, you can pinpoint it back to 2008-2009 but it's still iconic

I remember being in 10th grade thinking we were gonna be looking back at this song one day because of the sheer volume and size of the smashery. 2026 and here we are and it's still getting week over week gains on streaming while it smashed in 2025 (500 million streams)

I don't personally think it sounds dated. It lowkey sounds ahead of its time even for 2026

Poker Face was never dated. There's a reason why it's still charting on Spotify Global Chart in 2026

I think it still sounds fresh minus the bridge. Just Dance is more dated and LoveGame is much more dated despite still being great pop songs.

The production is very of its time but that's what I love about it.. it transports me back to 2009. Being dated ≠ bad

Dated but not too bad. Born This Way track is more dated in a bad way and came out later lol.

It got 500M streams on Spotify in 2025 alone. Imagine a 2008 song performing like a new single almost two decades later

Nah, it still sounds really good, especially if you compare to other songs from The Fame that kinda aged badly

I think everyone on earth agree on thr latter since it has the top 200 on Global Spotify as its residency for years now.

Sounds good whenever it comes on the radio. Calling it "timeless" might be a stretch, though. It's not dated or timeless. It's in the middle. We need a new word for what's between "dated" and "timeless." Anyone have one?

That song (and entire album) literally spearheaded the electro pop trend that would dominate the late 2000s/early 2010s in the US. When everyone is running to your producer and trying to get hits out of him, the material is unfortunately going to become dated. Gaga's theatricality and clever lyricism at least helps her music stand out from the other RedOne produced bops at that time.
