I don't even dislike him but saying this with a Harry Styles profile pic is at the very at least hilarious

The last thing you can say about Harry is that his instrumentals don't eat. Unless you're musically illiterate, which wouldn't surprise me coming from a Swiftie.

Yall legit just care about numbers. You Stan a calculator.

Brother what the hell is this chronically online @ss take? 😭 random people don't represent me what

Brother you're the one who came @ us saying "you see a Swiftie being weird and put everyone in the same bag" I'm literally replying to that comment. Do you have short term amnesia?

The coke rants because a certain user called the spotify numbers underwhelming. If only y'all saw what they say about Taylor's numbers

It doesn't matter

11 million (in 15 hours) is not low for anyone. Only Taylor Swift does bigger numbers these days

I'm by no means saying this is a bad debut I was just correcting so people understood what they were comparing

I even then make another post explaining why the date part made no sense chick3

I think it's a grower. Any Hairy stan can enlighten me on the meaning of this video? What does that man chasing him supposed to represent?

He explained in interviews that the concept of "aperture let the light in" came from him deciding to just say "yes to everything" and experience things he'd never experienced before. And that when you allow good things to enter bad things might enter too, that you have to make peace with it otherwise you'll miss out on the good stuff.

My interpretation of the video is that he feels chased. He dreads it at first. The embraces it and ends up dancing.

there are about 11 new pages since I checked this thread yesterday and I'm going through them now but what I wanna reaffirm is that this is miles ahead of As It Was. it felt like when As It Was came out, it was aping Ava Max's (and I'm not a stan of hers so don't @ me for bringing her up here. just a casual fan every so often) millionfold superior Maybe You're the Problem, as well as a few also superior The Weeknd singles. this song doesn't feel like it's aping any other mainstream single rn. the closest similarity to a song I'm getting here is to FKA twigs' Eusexua, which was released as the lead of her album in September 2024. Maybe You're the Problem and As It Was were actually released in the same month. is Harry Styles the most original popstar on earth? no. but I do not give a f*ck. Aperture is really excellent and yes it's clearly inspired by LCD Soundsystem and The Postal Service (and Madonna and Tame Impala) but it works and it's his best lead single to me since Sign of the Times giraffe

What the hell are you talking about are you on crack? The last time I said anything about Taylor's numbers was maybe idk, 2020 and Swifties were dragging Shakira.

Don't bother quoting me anyone you're muted for being incredibly annoying. I do not care about that woman.

Oh interesting. Kinda like he's avoiding something uncomfortable (the man) but once he embraces it (they dance) things are now easier (the receptionist guy appears)

It's obvious that he's gonna have a strong debut, it's like when Taylor released Me!, in the end it's the same situation even his own fans didn't like the song.

The only thing that can save that trash now is that classic Columbia payola + autoplay boost we all know they pull. sabrina

Oh that video absolutely elevates the song. I still don't think it's lead single material but the video is perfect for it.

Yeah, he said Aperture represents how he feels currently. Saying yes to stuff and experiences, "letting the light in" even if that means not so good stuff might come with it as well, not being afraid of them and facing them.

The director of the MV is Aube Perrie, he did MFASR too and that one is an allegory to the music industry eating their own idols. Harry is a squid mermaid in the video, he gets found by some Fishermen who own a sushi restaurant and they're about to cook him when they realize that he can sing. So they put him in the restaurant as entertainment until he loses his voice, then they chop him up and serve him for dinner. Aube Perrie's videos are fun and interesting but they always tell a story between the lines.

Sorry I'm a Spotify girlie. Is this in additional to the current 2 million with the music video? eek

Either way, this is smashing smashing
