I was so happy reading the archives so much the past few days, I knew it wouldn't last long bibliahh Hopefully it comes back one day. Thanks for the hard work as always

OK maybe you can help me understand why everyone wants the archive?

If it's to live in an era before Swifties took over then I completely understand.

Hello Community,

Yesterday's outage began around 4 PM EST. We are still reviewing the full chain of events, but activating the Archive, which contains millions of posts, triggered a rebuild of our search index. That process consumed an unexpected level of server resources and resulted in a critical failure on our cloud platform. As a precaution, the forum was taken offline while the issue was assessed.

As of 2/21/26 at 12:30 PM EST, service has been restored.

Because of the scale of the disruption, this also prompted a broader review of ATRL's overall system footprint. We are currently in discussions about next steps. In the meantime, the ATRL Archive covering 2017 to 2022 has been deactivated until further notice.

For now, we are proceeding carefully while we continue conversations with the developers. That is all I am able to share at this time.

Thank you for your patience and support. During the downtime, our social media and Discord channels helped us stay connected, and we appreciate everyone who checked in and spread the word.

Iconic threads - 100 page+ ones that we can only dream of today - the stans were more ruthless and pop emergency was iconic

Going through from the last page of each section and just deleting the threads with less than 25 replies that no one would miss wouldn't be a terrible idea if it helps with bringing the archive back up without any server strain. It's really only the larger threads that people care about and I'm sure a large portion of what was backed up are of the same low effort variety we see on the daily anyways penguin
