  • Hello Community, Yesterday’s outage began around 4 PM EST. We are still reviewing the full chain of events, but activating the Archive, which contains millions of posts, triggered a rebuild of our sea

  • this was so scary but it did force me to look at some job listings instead

wtf is this? never seen anything like this happen before? i never reported any of the posts in my thread, but i think someone else reported MY thread itself (for no reason at all) and the email somehow got sent to me instead? rip

systematic issue.

essentially someone reported ur thread, a mod reviewed it, and it got rejected.

Shouldn't members with negative reputation, especially with less than -200 points, get banned from this forum? Like that's a legitimate indication that the account's sole purpose is for trolling and rage baiting. They're only fun at first, then they eventually get so tiring and exhausting.

that's good to know, it happened to me as well but I was to lazy to make an effort to ask deadbanana2

and also a bit scared of getting lashed since people in here tend to work the mod's nerves to the last bit and I didn't wanna be caught in the crossfire emofish

Period.

And they're not even being funny or witty with their trolling.

Not necessarily because reputation isn't an actual representation of someone's standing on the forum. You can be mass downvoted for any innocuous opinion that a large group disagrees with. Plus the most infamous trolls like DMF and Kanye are still thousands of points above water despite flooding the forum with garbage day in and day out, because people choose to humor them cm

Then at least accounts with very high negative reputation should be investigated and have their posts reviewed to see if their main purpose here is to troll or set-up an artist. There's clearly one rn who is suspiciously being a setup account.

Yeah banning people for their reputation might lead to people being mass downvoted just to be banned

I mean mass voting someone to the point that they get less than -200 points is extremely difficult, though, especially that we have very limited number of reactions to be given in a day (which btw I believe should be increased a lil bit).

i get it but banning based on rep points alone would be unethical. esp in civics, where users stand by their unpopular or incorrect views. we would consider the full context, build a case, or take action immediately if they clearly violating rules.

I agree with this. And I also recommend to put trolls on ignore (while we don't have a block feature, if we ever get one) if they bother you so much.

I think we take all of that into consideration when we discuss bans/temporary bans. But the mass downvoting could be an issue, like other users have said.

I know but some might still downvote with this in mind. There are some evil people out there

I see, that's good to know then.

A few days ago, my reputation was higher than my post count.

Unfortunately over the past few days a group of people have took it upon themselves to mass dislike me persecuting me for defending a artist I like.
