First of all, this isn't a hate thread.

I'm just genuinely surprised that the woman who has the best selling album of this millenium doesn't chart any album anymore (and hasn't in a while) while a lot of artists still manage to chart their own classic albums.

For example, let's take the final week of November of the BB200 to avoid Christmas albums:

#89 The Fame

#109 GGGB

#124 Anti

#133 Born To Die

#156 Teenage Dream

#184 thank u, next

and you can add all the rock, rap etc. classic albums.

The situation is the same in her own country (the UK) where she hasn't charted an album since september 2024. Actually, 21 is only charting in the Netherlands (#44), while 19, 25 and 30 aren't charting anywhere.

Isn't it a bit weird, regarding her popularity, especially in the streaming era where you can chart an album forever no matter how many copies you have sold?

The world is already depressing enough no one wants to listen to sad mopey music rn. We need fun bops to help us disassociate.

She has nothing going on rn I guess. 30 is already 4 years old and she hasnt done anything major to promote it (as far as I remembered). 21 is a classic album tho, it or 25 will surely re chart in the future

It's true, but 21 not re-entering the BB200, even from time to time, is a bit weird to me given its big popularity. It last entered the top 100 in the beginning of 2022 according to acharts. I don't know about the top 200 though, since they only have the top 100 for some reason.

Her music is still consumed and remembered though. Like several Adele album tracks have gone viral on Tiktok in the past few years and racking 100 millions of streams now

21 not charting is surprising. Maybe it will return after xmas.

This is the case for a lot of artists who chart their biggest album though. I'm not surprised at 19 or 30 not charting but 21? It literally has 3 classics on it.

21 and 25 used to chart even with her long breaks, so that excuse doesn't work.

30 pretty much killed her recurrent streams. That's a fact, and it was obvious that it was happening early into 30's chart run.

Few people liked the album very much after the forced Easy on Me hype died down, and people really didn't care for her new atttiude/persona.

The girls are streaming Olivia Dean instead

It's a little weird but those albums were huge during the digital era (and continued to have a lot of catalog sales throughout the 2010s) so it's not THAT weird that they dont transition well to the streaming era.

I always compare Adele to Celine Dion and Celine didn't transition well into the 2000s at all. Kind of the same story for Adele. She's a legacy artist.

Maybe it's because a lot of her listeners are older people who bought physical CDs and are less likely to stream?

You need to constantly release to keep your fans engaged, if you're gone for long they will too. Doesn't matter how many "classics" you have. By your logic we should be seeing Madonna, Beatles and all them charting because of "classics"
