I really like the first verse and the vocal layering in "ego trauma" and "I don't wanna". The melody in that part reminds me of the catchiness of a Taylor Swift pop song.

I don't think I love the rest of the song though unfortunately, maybe it'll grow

I'm not sure what they expect the song to do. They're just dropping songs with no promotion. You can't just feed off nostalgia, that was why Mature did well... Now you have to actually promote and physically be seen performing the song places.

Tbh saving grace is Hilary has never been a singles artist. She sells albums and can tour, that's her bread and butter.

I genuinely believe this is one of her best songs It keeps getting better with each listen

Why anyone expecting a hit at this point when she barely had any during her hay day I'll never get lol. If you're not following this for the actual music, you'll be very disappointed.

Her honesty, artistry, and live performances (reconnecting with her fans) seem to be the focus for this era. Doesn't seem like they're gunning for or expecting a "hit" song, especially since she's never had a huge-charting hit. If they do have a focus on anything performance-wise, I think it will be the album release.

Truly tho I think I expect another single before the album is gonna happen. We still have the docu-series and the tour before then, they'll definitely be doing another single.

It is true, I think if she was releasing more Dance forward music she's obviously be doing different numbers but I love the music she's releasing and Mature genuinely was a bop.

It's the potential she showed with Dignity, some critics even called her the American Kylie. People tend to forget she was still a teenager during that era, even if she looked/acted more... mature.

I hope radio picks this up...itʻs too catchy to flop

Honestly I'm happy with the numbers so far, but Atlantic should send this to radio stations, otherwise I don't see the point of signing with a big record label
