The song has to be in the movie to be eligible. Only the first credit song is eligible because it'll usually start right before the last frame of the film, thus it's technically "in" the movie. Any song playing after it in the credits is not in the movie and thus ineligible.

The Sun has been right about Gaga's involvement right? And they said RUNWAY was a promo track with SOAW as the actual "main" single. If so, it makes sense that it's getting all of the attention and GL is just an add-on gift from Gaga essentially.

I will say Gaga probably played all 3 songs to the DWP2 director/writer/producers and they're the ones that decided which songs would be used in what way. But Glamorous Life seems like the obvious awards play and I don't get how they didn't see that?

I mean Disney isn't that smart also when it comes to BoS.

They submitted Dos Oruguitas from Encanto everywhere for awards, when the most popular song was very clearly We Don't Talk About Bruno.

Why tf would you record TWO original songs for the end credits?

Usually there's just one, then it switches to generic film score credits sound -- and by then most of the audience has left the theatre or turned it off at home

In their defence, submissions were due on Nov 1st, weeks before Encanto even came out. Lin-Manuel said Dos Oruguitas encompasses the meaning of the movie more, and they couldn't have predicted how WDTAB was going to take off.

She should have saved it for a bigger/better project
