Yeah, that makes no sense

It's obvious Shape of a Woman will be the song they're going to focus on. It's the only song actually in the film. The Sun also described it as the "main" single.

It's up to them to choose what to submit supposedly and they can submit up to two.

Unless Runway serves HMH teas where it still shows visuals while some credit text is on screen and then GL is used for the black screen credits, and if the Academy says that's okay, then it's over for GL.

Per the Academy rules sis

It's a reason Taylor's best song "Safe & Sound" from the first Hunger Games was not eligible

My understanding is that a song has to be in the actual movie to be eligible for a BOS nom. Most credit songs get around this by starting right before the last frame of the movie and the credits start rolling. By being the 2nd credits song, Glamorous Life isn't technically in the movie and thus ineligible.

Usually, yes.

From the AMPAS rulebook:

An original song consists of words and music, both of which are original and written specifically for the motion picture. There must be a clearly audible, intelligible, substantive rendition (not necessarily visually presented) of both lyric and melody, used in the body of the motion picture or as the first music cue in the end credits.

Honestly it's great that we're even having this convo. Glamorous Life has been really well received.

I think it's way more dynamic than her ballads lately. It's like she remembered ballads can be fun. 1000 Doves, Hold My Hand, The Beast and Blade Of Grass lacked this.
