Even though Mayhem was the era she (for the most part) "got her flowers", it still feels like she's overdue for critical respect.

if Requiem was coming this week she would've just announced the date... I don't think its coming until well into May/after DWP2...

The fact that we got a Requiem announcement but we're still waiting for a Requiem announcement. Just another day in the Liddo asylum.

Now that time has passed can I say this was not the absolute gag that was hyped to be back then and that the whole thing was carried heavily by her theatrics and attitude? She did fit the theme, but to me all of the looks were a bit basic. It only works as a performance, watching it happen.

Maybe, or just how many of the newer acts just don't seem to be hitting for people so they are streaming the catalogs of older more established artists.

She did the theme so well. Camp is moreso about performance as opposed to fashion anyway and she understood that.

That's the whole point sis, the whole thing was camp. The theme was more than just wearing whacky clothes, she embodied the concept of camp through the entire performance/mannerisms/concept and it all ties back to Susan's Sontag's essay.

The comfort we can have is that the trailer came from Apple Music, not her. If it were from her account, we'd might as well act as if it weren't announced at all.

It was too gay for the US market. This is not 2010 anymore where her dance pop would tarnish records. Abracadabra's #13 peak is like a #1 for gay-pop in today's market.

What she needs to do to joggle the US market and the global one is release a DWAS-like song for the US and a gay pop one for the global market. Since that's hard to do in the streaming era, she would need a lead that's for the global market and a second single for the US market. The lead would smash globally and keep her next album afloat there and her second single would keep the album afloat in the US.

The US market just sucks. Radio doesn't play older artists, young people want to project a "cool" image with their music taste, and country fans don't give other genres a chance, and men are hip hop obsessed.
