It's a supposed source quoting the hypothesis of a supposed insider. That's anything but reliable.

And it just doesn't make sense. Yes, of course Beyoncé wants money. But the project not being attractive enough when it's something that will get free promotion just from the amount of names attached to it and music/celebrity media covering it unlike a regular movie is just not believable. Netflix alone has put much more money in way less interesting projects.

Today I learned AlligatorHorse is an actual term and depicted as a hybrid animal with southern roots from Mississippi/Alabama to New Orleans…this detour doesn't seem totally left field now for me now

I think you're over estimating the performance of Black Is King on Disney, which was a highly controversial project at the time that ended up as a bit of a streaming dud. Insiders know what BIK pulled in terms of viewing figures and it's obvious to me that it wasn't enough to warrant a big gamble on Renaissance visuals too. Likewise, other visual music projects like Lopez's and Gambino's simply haven't been streaming hits. It's just the truth.

Black Is King is a movie attached to a flop album attached to a hollow blockbuster that no one cared about. Nobody was expecting a visual for it either and the only people that got to listen to the album had already moved on by that point too. Disney+ had also been active for less than a year by then and most people only were subscribed for the kids content because they didn't have much more to offer. That was never going to perform any better than it did.

I won't even bother with the comparison with Gambino and JLo, because they don't even have an audience for their music anymore.

If anything, the Renaissance Film making 43 million dollars on the box office with barely any promotion proved she does have an audience.

I wasn't necessarily trying to figure out what her plan was or anything, just thought it was interesting and something I had never heard of before.

But seeing all the posts here with the new photos and side by side covers made me think of the CCT alligator visual and microphone stand. So I was curious if there was any sort of connection and turns out there was. That was all.

Looking further into Beyoncé's work has become kind of a hobby of mine - found a lot of great books and authors (bell hooks, Roxane Gay & Audre Lorde), films and such.

Those accounts that keep posting those tired AI edits of Giselle have gotten into the Hive's heads, and now they actually believe Beyoncé liked those edits and decided to use Gemini on the B'Day "new" pics!

It made nearly $2 billion at the box office. The real reason why it failed is because she waited over a year from its release to post it and didn't do anything more than a instagram post to promote it. Hamilton and Mandalorian were both flourishing, so no, it wasn't because people only subscribed for kids content (which Black is King was meant to be for kids btw)
