Losing potential BFs to competition. Thoughts?

Featured Replies

How often does this happen to you? You're talking to a potential BF/Soulmate/Lover that you just met and someone comes out of woodworks & swoops in on him. How do you normally react? Do you fight for your chance or no?

Choose yourself, your sanity, your health, your money, your friends, your career. Don't wait for a man to choose you to live the life you want.

couldn't care less tbh. if you cared enough about me and we were truly compatible someone else wouldn't have been able to easily "take" you and if i ever feel like i have to fight for someone it's obvious we're not meant to be.

So thankful for my avoidant attachment style lol, some of yall must wake up to misery day after day.

This. Also, don't you dare to second guess your worth because of that, OP. If it wasn't meant to be, there's still a plenty of guys and things waiting for you. Someday it will all make sense, even if you can't see it at the moment.

i lost my boyfriend after devoting my life for 3 years to him because he found a guy who's into the things he likes so the thing i learned was: don't fight, just let him go. make peace with yourself

choose yourself always and don't be a dumb b**** like me who even changed his academic choice and career for a man

As far as being in a committed relationship, I've never had a boyfriend "taken" from me; but as far as just talking/getting to know someone with the intent of being a relationship, then yes. I personally don't like to date guys who are multi-dating, so the moment I start to see signs of that (or the moment I find out for sure), I remove myself :michael:

What's up with the insecure gays around here lately? omg just grip his dick good with your hole and prevent him from leaving or sum :deadbanana4:

love is not a competition you weirdos. If someone doesnʻt CHOOSE you, they donʻt love you and you are not for them.

That's how I lost my first LTR, he wanted me to change colleges and career after I'd already gotten a scholarship and I said hell no :toofunny2:

If you "lose" him as you said it means that it was never meant to be but being honest you don't lose or get people since they're not objects, they simply decide to be or not to be with you.

But going back to your question, if he chooses the other person then you just move on, why fight for something that didn't choose you?

There is no competition. If they chose to go with the other person, then they weren't the right person for you.

If you feel so inclined to love this person, you should also respect their wishes. Flirting is good of course, and it is also very good to be honest and show your feelings, but if the person prefered the other, then you shouldnt 'fight' for anything.

Be their friend, that might make things easier and turn into a loving friendship, for instance.

I'd be like bye fellas. Life is too short to compete I'd rather be single for the rest of life.

But be sure there's something, sometimes things look like something they really aren't.

Even though nobody took him from me, he has ghosted me and i've devalued myself so much that i almost lost respect for myself. At the end, i am much better thanks to my friends who give tons of love and love me unconditionally. Still, a part of me yearns for him and that's the reason i want to stay single for the rest of my life.

The first thing you should do when this happens is get really, really high

yeah mine went with the " i'm a doctor, you should be getting a career that pays you well to be with me " and i went along with it :toofunny2:

now he's dating a dumbass and i'm stuck studying something i hate lmao

What am I supposed to do ? Fight for his love ? If he likes someone else better, that's just too bad for me. Imagine "winning" him back after he picked someone else, sorry but you would probably feel so inadequate in that relationship anyway.

You always talk about crack and getting high, are you okay :deadbanana4:

Its happened to me twice. First time made me sign up for a gym membership and second time made me start tracking macros and hire a personal trainer.
Now body tea and I actually have abs and I love squeezing my own ass because I cant believe how tight it is.
