Cardi is here to stay. Whether people want to admit it or not.
 

Most artists who took as long as a break as she did between albums would've flopped hard on their return. But instead? She came back and smashed and broke multiple female rap records.

 

People underestimate her a lot, and she always ends up having the last laugh.

Longevity by turning her album in a compilation of the past decade maybe.

 

If you remove the 5+ year old songs you are left with an album that is barely gold and only has 200M streams. Thats a text book definition of a sophomore slump. 

Didnt she add 50 tracks to it that are almost a decade old?  lets not be obtuse.

I love Cardi but the different versions sure are helping! 

i saw in the other thread that the album is not even touching 2M of daily streams. the bar must be at all time low. 

The entire era feels like a complete fraud

 

How is she charting Top 10 where is nowhere to be found at Hort 100 only Safe (carried to radio) + She add like all 10 songs from years ago

 

 

this is actually hella impressive cos if anyone else took a break for 7 years they would've tanked harder than the titanic 

Because she's adding a range of songs starting from as far back as 2019 to inflate stream totals/certifications while pumping multiples remixes of new songs so they don't completely fall off the charts

If you take off the IOP era songs (Money, Please Me, and Press) it will only reduce the streams by 500k. Which means the AITD songs are still doing 2 mill combined.

She is here too stay.

The recurrent streams of her old hits are not keeping the album afloat let's be real, maybe the top 10 record would not be there but the units overall would be similar.

 

Certifications are another story. Anyways, she needs to release a new album next year the ASAP as weekly units stabilize with the playlists in several months. The more you give the better in the streaming era. Look at Taylor. 

 

Next summer should be her third album.

Would 143 still chart in the top 10 if Katy added electric, small talk, 365, con la calma, never worn white, waving through the window, bandaids ?

Because, for many, Cardi B was never supposed to have longevity.

 

Cardi B was supposed to have a rags to riches come up ex stripper with a good year of hits and then lose it all for people's entertainment.

 

She was supposed to be BUILD UP TO TEAR DOWN and when she won too hard in 2018 they let her have it in 2019. Then she took time off and came back with WAP and Up and made it clear that she's sturdy. AITD proves she is here to stay and now has mutiple hit acclaimed albums to her credit. She was supposed to be so ratchet that she landed in prison or back on the pole...for the haters to laugh at.

 

She surpassed expectations, broke records, achieved things in a shorter time or just at all that wasn't expected for her.

 

She never rushed cash grab albums and waited for the right time to make a move.

 

Most importantly, she broke up the monopoly of the female rap game so that multiple female rappers could not only have a moment but have it last beyond just one year.

 

Now what those girls did to their career is another thing but Doja, Meg, Glo and others have more than an Iggy or Azealia banks moment.

 

Her presence is a reminder to people who claim she has no talent that she still made an impact so that there's no more solo domination...now many girls get a piece of the pie.

 

Unfortunately, I don't like where Doja and Meg's careers are going. I want them to win harder. Glo still is doing her thang. 

 

As of now, Cardi B and Nicki are the top 2 superstars holding steady with or without smash hits to their credit. This makes one party more enraged than the other, though.

 

Cardi and her stripper background know it's about all the girls getting to the bag.
