Ariana Grande - 'petal'
Just wanted to say this album has gotten even better for me and I already really enjoyed it on impact Title track, Kiss Me, Stay, Freak, Bad Thing, Nowhere Nobody in particular but literally everything (including Warning Signs which is a perfect interlude in my opinion). Sad that it hasn't been embraced like some of her previous records, but this will go down as one of my favorites in her catalogue methinks.

Consistency Cannot wait for the day everyone wakes up and realizes how great of an album Petal is. Regardless, a hit lead single with longevity and a second single shaping up to be a hit as well on top her second highest debut over a decade into her career? That's not anything to scoff at in my opinion

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
I've spent the last six days moving so I wasn't able to really listen or engage too much with reactions. I really enjoy this album and was sure it was going to be praised and welcomed so you might guess my surprise when I discovered it's been polarizing. Kiss Me is such a banger of an opener. So lush yet full of melancholy. The title track and video demonstrating Ari at her most forward with regard to her frustrations with the industry. Stay, Freak, Oh Well, the closing track I think this is a great album with some heartbreaking insights. In fact, I'm not sure there's a track I outright dislike

Ariana Grande — petal review thread | Metacritic: 67 (+1) | AOTY: 64 | Pitchfork 6.5
I truly do not understand these reviews. I think this is a very consistent, cohesive and personal effort. Was instantly pulled into Petal from the very first track and I'm truly confounded that its reception has been this polarizing.

Kesha performs "C U Next Tuesday" live for first time in 15 years
Legendary song Kesha sounds amazing

Billboard praises US national anthem performances by Whitney, Gaga, Chris Stapleton
Not that anyone listed doesn’t absolutely deserve praise but it always bothers me that Kelly almost never gets the recognition her rendition deserves

Ariana Grande - "hate that i made you love me"
I am so so so happy about this song's success. It was instant for me and still sounds so fresh after a lot of listens A smash with longevity

Bebe Rexha - "New Religion"
Would really love this to be a proper hit for her. It's so infectious and repeatable

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
Yes! I didn't realize this! Also one of my favorite movies of all time (all three really) Been listening to this (basically) on repeat with a few other releases sprinkled in. I'm obsessed with the first half + The Cure, Expectations and Cigarette Smoke (which is an all-timer for album closers WHEW lord) I don't dislike the other three just need more time with 'em. WWWM is great, I actually love Robert on it (I wouldn't be opposed to hearing a solo version though just for fun). Two part question, is it true that the vinyl has some elements cut out? And if so, is there a version that doesn't? I don't really care much, but if there's an option to have the full thing I'd love that. My turntable begged.mp3 me last night for a copy so obviously I must acquiesce.

WHAT CAN I DO? BUT THINK OF YOU? BUT THINK OF YOU!

Olivia Rodrigo - 'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love'
Maggots for Brains SOTY contender in my opinion. However, I'm gonna need her to make an extended version where she does a final chorus after the down chorus with full instrumentation and the bridge vocals overlayed before hitting the stellar outro Anyway, really enjoying this album and happy she's seeing so much success.

Bebe Rexha - 'DIRTY BLONDE'
What is going with Drink and a Little Love and why do I really like it

Bebe Rexha - 'DIRTY BLONDE'
I'm really vibing I haven't finished listening yet (and I do agree that some songs certainly could have longer final choruses/outros) but haven't disliked anything

She was so right to put Silver Lake on blast. Queen.

Aly & AJ - "Year of the Horse"
Unfortunately, I don't have much to say. My biggest gripe is that their voices continue to disappear into the mix. It doesn't give the "live" factor they talk about, it just gives amateur. I really really want them to understand that part of what makes a live setting so special is that it's... live. Any attempt at recreating that atmosphere and experience is always going to pale in comparison to an actual show. There is no point in continuing to prioritize this goal. I'm begging them to wake up and realize there is artistry in the recording process, in using multiple takes, in fine tuning performance and harmonies (god their harmonies haven't been interesting since like Ten Years if we're being honest maybe ATOTB but most of that was straightforward 3rds even though they sounded amazing). Producers have access to so many tools to make a recording special. This crusade for liveness in the name of authenticity is painfully redundant and ultimately costing them. I don't mean to dogpile or be insensitive, I've seen them live more than any other artist, I've been a hardcore fan for years and years, I've supported them and will continue to do so because I love them but I'm praying they pick a new direction because they've run the pseudo-americana vibe into the ground and have so much more potential and talent than what their recent efforts demonstrate.

Sober is one of Kelly Clarkson’s best songs, why?
Pure excellence needs no explanation only reputation Talk about a song that just builds and builds and delivers on a proper cathartic climax She will forever be one of my favorite Kelly songs (and songs in general) of all time.

Taylor Swift - “I Knew It, I Knew You”
This is so so cute. Taylor sounds wonderful on this too She and Jack make magic

Ariana Grande - "hate that i made you love me"
I know I'm late to the video but AH! Gagged. She does not get enough credit for her videography in my opinion. Flawless execution. Really hoping this serves longevity. Radio will certainly help, but more than that I just think the song deserves it and I hope more and more people come on board

Taylor Swift - “I Knew It, I Knew You”
Since it is getting serviced to country radio, not that that says much for the song's sound, (remember when they sent New Year's Day to the format) I've been thinking about the sub-areas of the genre she's explored and I'd love something in the vein of Enchanted or State of Grace. Big, epic, dramatic, and could be sung in stadiums for decades. That or Timeless, something with an emphasis on an emotional narrative arc that doesn't sacrifice a nice full instrumental with movement. Though I wouldn't be surprised if we get something more akin to Never Grow Up or Don't You. Which I'd still enjoy but wouldn't prefer.

Ariana Grande - "hate that i made you love me"
Instant for me. How’s everyone feeling about it? There is something so compelling here. The low vocals, the hint of bite from some of the lyrical turns (the crown line in particular), a final chorus with some healthy belts, I really like this. It also has this very subtle sinister energy (sinister is too strong of a word but almost villainous maybe?) that I adore.

Olivia Rodrigo - "the cure"
Okay, things are clicking for me now. Drop Dead, The Cure, the aesthetics etc. I’m really vibing with it all now. Would love for a complete and intentional arc reflected through the track list of the album. Starting with DD, a song about absolute infatuation and The Cure as the midpoint serving as her realization that love can only do so much for you and your wellbeing. With the back half exploring how she has worked to change her perspective on relationships or how we all place such emphasis on romantic love and how dangerous and ultimately unfulfilling it can be. If any of that makes sense lol. Excited for the rest of the album!
