The Subway is freefalling, why?

Featured Replies

Chappell's new single 'The Subway' is predicted to drop from #3 to #17 on the BB100 this week. Interestingly that will place her one spot below her two year old song 'Pink Pony Club'. Why do you think this new song is failing to connect with the GP, whilst PPC continues to smash?

Just like The Giver. Taylor can't pass her up though!

Because of the ending.

I haven't listened to it in a little bit but it's still a classic for me. She waited too long to release it. Either way it's a hit. :michael:

Because Billboard is outdated and no longer reflects current hits.

It just wasn't that great. She's still immensely talented can smash with the right material.

Its a weak song and there are too many similar songs that are better

Im sure she will have better luck in 5 years whenever her new music comes out

Not in the studio version. It is over processed. Which is why she doesn't do it like that live. Her live versions are far better.

Ppl are losing interest in her im afraid and the fact that her album is nowhere near finished or coming soon….

It's too early to say, but I was told the internet was going absolutely nuts about this song and it would be a huge hit, so... :michael:

She has been performing it non stop.

It was a cute first listen, but doesn't have much repeat value for the GP. The ending - as nice as it was - went on a bit too long as well. A little editing would have done wonders

It sounds like a timeless 2000s classic, not a current trendy pop single (a good thing given the state of current "hits"). I agree a radio edit could help, but it's more of a song to come back to years from now rather than its impact concentrated to a #1 chart position.
