Is time going backwards instead of forwards?

Featured Replies

So we are all led to believe that 'time' is going forward, into the future and that it cannot be reversed. But have you ever felt sometimes like that we are actually experiencing a reversing time where the future is actually the past? That a child being born is the end of his life, with his death being his beginning and we are all returning back to one singularity

Entropy is continuing to increase so time is still moving forward

To answer truthfully, time isn't "moving" at all. It's a relative measurement of our perception of the events around us.

there is a concept of the arrow of time. hawking touched on it in A Brief History of Time, so you are onto something

But what if a decrease in entropy is the actual time going forward, we're just experiencing a forward time with the increase in entropy due to our brains perceiving the reverse.

So like when we die, that's our start and that was when we actually begin, we just experienced everything in reverse

You know what? Keep talking because I see where you're coming from

According to the special theory of relativity, everything that we observed and perceive is from our reference frame and the only constant is the speed of light. But if we are not moving, that cannot be true scientifically as at the speed of light time 'stops'. But we are not light, we are matter and matter has mass. But what if it is in reverse? That the things that make up our body is just going back to the true singularity, aka the truth. That even though we are experiencing a forward, it is actually a backward in their frame of reference

That is actually a real phenomena called "Reverse Time Expedition" coined by the Legend L. Gaga

I feel like society was way more progressive in the 90's.

But the 90s is in the future so we'll go through it again, just when it happens, it'll feel normal and not reversed like how we're feeling now like everything is normal

People give Elon too much credit. He's NOT that intelligent :toofunny3:

OT: Maybe time is just an illusion and things kinda repeat (for the most part if not entirely) in a loop, and the end/beginning of this universe has happened an infinite number of times already. I'm no fortune teller or PH.D student but this theory is likely published out there somewhere. If OP or anyone else wants to enlighten me further on these topics, I'm all ears.

this is not the daily teenage dream thread i was expecting

If my theory is correct, it would mean teenage Dream would  hypothetically peak twice, forward and backward. But actually just once actually as the universe only recognizes one, which is where we are now, in backwards

If this phenomenon is properly studied, people can actually discover time travel into the 'past' which is actually our future
