Detour the title track took me by surprise - that was kinda like listening to Pink Diamond for the first time. I loved the album, easily her best and tracks like BBO and Polo - probably the best Sophie imitation I've heard. Shame there's no Pop Sound and Cha Cha but they would feel kinda out of place on the track list.

Oh the neverending beef… They are two different artists with two different approaches to music and here's that. If anything Madonna has been better at curating her work - she lost her spark circa Hard Candy but up to that point she knew who to work with. I think Gagas music is largely poorly produced with exceptions - for some reason The Fame Monster still sounds great, the same cannot be said about Born This Album… it's just so muffled

Yeah, it's a chill house track. It's nice but nothing groundbreaking, nothing we've not heard before. I'd say it's very similar to Tame Impala's latest album bits, especially End Of Summer. A chill track, no big hooks. For me it's a strange choice for a lead single since it's not really a smash comeback, rather a tease. I suspect a more hook'y song to come at a later date. I hear some nods to… Radical Optimism, a blend of live instruments with some synths but still pop.

This is her best album by far… wow, glad she was able to transform such a heartbreaking situation into an amazing album. Not only is the album relatable, it is also masterfully written. And the cover art is tbh a cherry on top - there is something about painted covers being the best albums of respective artists (lorde, riri, tyler etc.)

Lack of Blinding Lights in the top 10 is embarrassing for RS honestly... sorry but the production on that is stellar and the song alone inspired endless imitations Inclusion of Stupid Love, Special, Eternal Sunshine, Send My Love, Bang Bang, Lust For Life and The Call is absolutely BONKERS They had If You Seek Amy, Hold It Against Me, Problem, No Tears to F* Cry, GHOSTIN and so on...

After listening to this album i think that she lost the plot a little bit. It's confusing and sounds like the lyrics are tacked onto wrong melodies. It's like listening to a debut album of Vanessa Hudgens with lyrics describing a life of a 35+ woman. The instrumentals have the thrill of a target commercial. The Fate Of Ophelia is a highlight, the lyrcis and the melody are very strong and the production is fitting, the ad libs are quite haunting. But that's about it - the rest is mediocre at best. The whole campaign was centered around the idea of a showgirl, made promises of a focused album full of bangers and when the songs finally arrived it all seems disconnected. Like the thing that was marketed differed from the final product. I think no one expected reputation 2.0 or 1989 2.0, that is not the point. It's just… the concept seems not to be reflected in the songs. Three is maybe one „jazzy" moment in the closing song and that is about it. Her thoughts about fame seem to be quite shallow as they are not anything new. There are no new perspectives, no new concepts that she came up with. If fame was a theme then reputation and midnights were just better execution with vulnerable moments - her finding peace in the arms of her then boyfriend and the back and forth of a woman who wants to achieve more but her boyfriend doesn't like the spotlight. „You're only as hot as your lady hit baby" - really Taylor? In the age of The Substance, Fame Is a Gun and Brat this is the best take you had? The arguably richest woman in music whose life won't be normal anymore, who cannot go out in public without causing a frenzy can only write a cliche lyric that fame and love can be short lived? For the love of God… Don't get me wrong, it's not like the album is abysmal cause she is a gifted songwriter that can write a nice hook or two. It's just disappointing, there is nothing new that we did not hear from Taylor before. The choice of working with Max Martin just to serve Lover laced production of Jack Antonoff is also disappointing cause what Is Father Figure if not a cosplay of Jack's production? It's just hard not to think that the whole rollout was just a money grabbing scheme and TTPD was just a testing ground.

Madonna is such an underrated songwriter. You can see in her songs' lyrics that she has a distinct style. It's very hard to write a hit song and use suitable words. Live To Tell is the best example i think. It's such a haunting ballad

An album with a song like that already cannot be better than Eusexua. Releasing a filler track as a lead single is a weird strategy. Also she is soooooo pretentious right now... like a few weeks ago she was a meme all over tik tok when she asked "Where are the thinkers?" and now this caption on her social media... using clever wording does not make the album nor the roll-out more intriguing. The video is nice though, her visuals always slay.

Hope she edits this time. I hate that PF2 was so bloated and lacked concept. Since PF the biggest argue has been that she cannot edit the albums to save her life. Even The Pinkprint could have used some editing. I hope this time she has a focused album - more FTCUs, less Nicki Hendrixxes and Needles
