  1. Releasing this tomorrow was a fantastic decision from them. Because they're releasing on such a packed week for notable Alt & Pop album releases they've been bundled into every list I've seen with the other pop girlies (Miley, Carly, Tove, Beabadoobee, Kim, Empress) on social media. I'd actually never heard of them before but I kept seeing their name come up when people were talking about this Friday's releases. So I checked them out and now I'm obsessed. Absolutely love the 2000's vibes, they give me Frou Frou vibes.
  2. Finally got round to listening to this album. Okay Ms Becky Noir slay a bit experimental queen The Corsetry > Miss Delicious > Pistol run is a 1-2-3 punch for the ages I fear.
  3. It kinda shocks me seeing all the She's the Best slander in this thread. I swear it was praised more in its own thread. It's low-key my SOTY of the year, I listen to it at least 5 times a day This sounds good too, I think I'm just enjoying him doing whatever he wants, so what if there's no big vocals or massive pop hooks, he can do that next album. Every artist deserves a personal / experimental album, it just so happens that a lot of them are doing it this year.
  4. After watching the video it does feel like a big pop moment for her. It's so 2000's coded, very Britney, Madonna with that Danja/Timbaland vibe and the music video - my god I've missed music videos like this. The video kinda gives me MJ vibes. Great lead!
  5. Not this randomly being AOTY. I've seen her name so much over the years but never really checked her out and I thought I'd give this album a go and holy moly. It's so good!! I'm Your First, 16 Seconds, Don't Even, Kiss Kiss Kiss and Girls Will Be Girls are all 10/10 for me. I'm Your First genuinely being pop perfection.
  6. This song was already a hit, why is everyone so excited. Justice for Whatcha Doing.
  7. The song and video are ******* amazing, he should be so proud of this. What a lead!!
  8. Still is a smash, I don't get why everyone's dragging it. Yeah her accent is thick but that adds to it in my opinion. The thing I'm wondering is if it samples Somewhere We Only Know by Keane because the verses literally have the same melody.
  9. This future dance classic omg it's amazing
  10. As someone who was really looking forward to this album, I think I need a bit more time with it. After first listen, it's a bit jarring - not bad - but a bit… confusing? The production is very samey on every song and the vocal mixing is so muddy I can't quite understand anything she's saying. The choruses are also quite flat, like I'd argue that Hate That I Made You Love Me is the only one with a standout chorus. On the positive side, I do like the instrumental production, it's very creative and the Imogen Heap inspiration is probably the strongest on this album which is what I love when she taps into. Freak stood out to me as a highlight as well as Oh Well and Bad Thing. I think more of the songs will become clearer and more enjoyable with more listens as I start to understand the lyrics and recognize the melodies. Not her more instant album but not her worst at all.
  11. Wink Wink and Camera were my favourite pre-release singles, thoughnothing has connected with me like every other album she's released. After two listens (which did not take long at all) I don't mind this album. It's not an instant album but BRAT wasn't instant for me either. My favourites so far are: • 2007 — Very Classic Charli, the repetitive chorus with the simple repeated beat underneath. It's kind of Focus's moody emo sister. • Persona — One of the rare "full" songs on the album. This is what I was expecting most of the album to sound like. Nice fuzzy bop. • Yeah — Lyrics are lazy af and she'll say that's on purpose. Love the beat on it, wish there was more to the song itself. Love the slowed down bit. • I'm Afraid — Probably my favourite I'd say. The dramatic out of tune horns are kind of amazing and the whole vibe of the track is excellent. Again, I just wish there was more depth to the song. The overall problem with this album is just how unfinished it is. It just sounds like demos with half finished ideas. Again, she'll say that's on purpose and that's absolutely fine if that's what she wants to put out but the thing I've disliked about this era is the pretentiousness and the blasé "rah!! so anti-zeitgeist, too cool to be a pop star, dismantling my pop career, queen of the burnouts" attitude she has which feels so forced to me. She's quite an existential thinker, she always seems to have been but this whole idea of making ultra-meta music and sabotaging herself just feels really gimmicky and try hard to me. And I say that as a massive massive fan. That being said… I like the album.
  12. Finally we can get Here's 2 Us to #1 on the UK charts. What a bop!!
  13. She Wolf Dos would gag me I fear. One of my favourite albums growing up!
  14. Yessss Darnce without me queen! This makes me want a Purple Disco Machine collab so bad.
  15. Yeah this slaps tbh, love the pop rock Since U Been Gone type production. I hope her next album is this sound. That would do her wonders and I'd say that's her in her element.
  16. Two of my favourite artists of all time. I was hoping for a more upbeat song but actually this works really well. Not quite getting the negative reaction on here, it's catchy and it's unique. It's both of their styles mixed together so well. If they push this it'll be HUGE on European radio. Could be her next big hit tbh.
  17. He's 2/2 with me so far. Under the Rhythm is incredible, I'm so so happy to finally be excited for an Adam album again.
  18. Yeah of course, everyone knows those songs and when they come on everyone sings along. There's no denying that M5 did have some well deserved quality hits in the 2000's.
  19. I can't believe I'm saying this but the Jessie Reyez song is an absolute bop and probably the best on this soundtrack alongside the Ava song. What a banger!
  20. If it's country I hope it's the honkiest tonkiest country. Either way it'll probably be good, if it's a sad ballad it needs to be in a very emotional part of the movie.
  21. Is the wild in the room with us?
  22. The impact this song had on my iPod Touch back then, went triple platinum in my iTunes Library.
  23. Hope we get collaborations with Joel Corry, Jax Jones, David Guetta, RAYE, Calvin Harris, etc.
