i feel like last year was usually spring oriented, lots of early releases from lots of big acts, i expect things to pick up a bit in the autumn

How is that a bad thing? Since this year is not as bloated as the last one, the releases that are actually good will be bigger events and more monumental (like Mayhem). I think Addison will release the best album of the year

Last year was such a mega-serve for pop music with basically 80% of the pop girls releasing that this year was bound to be dry as hell.

like literally everybody saw this coming, why are people still surprised this year is dead af musically ?  

 

and 2026 will probably be even worse cause those who didn't release last year will do so this year (gaga, doja, lana, lorde, miley, fka twigs, kali uchis…) and you won't even have the big tours to make up for the lack of music since they're all touring now

They're waiting for Doja to drop VIE so they can copy her sound for the next 2 years 

I blame TikTok that showed doing the bare minimum promotion in the form of a TikTok works better than a high budget music video and promo tour 

Yeah music and entertainment have never been this boring.
