For someone who is known for a pleasant and distinct studio voice she sounds absolutely awful and unrecognizable in the Smurfs song.

 

There have been rumors for year now that her voice is cooked/cracked and it seems like the rumors were true?

I'll wait until we get a song that its vocals aren't heavily processed and autotuned

Well pregnancy/having kids does change someone's voice so it could be related to that. 
 

That Smurf song though couldn't sound less like her. Like a completely different person singing. 

There was a blind item that alleged that she lost a lot of her singing ability which is part of why we don't have R9. I'll have to check out the new song.

Not saying it's the case but there are pregnant women who smoke as disgusting as that sounds

Does anyone here remember the blind item from 2019/2020, back when Amazon was first doing the documentary on her next album?
 

The blind said that her voice was so damaged from the various activities she parties with that she can barely put down a passable vocal track anymore, and that Rihanna/her producers were apparently spending big stacks of money trying to fix the recordings. 
 

anyway listen to that Smurfs song and tell me that doesn't feel like what's happening right now except AI technology is 6 years more advanced now and was probably used to fill in the spots where her vocal chords have died.
