I think most of her former collaborators are hoping for this to be her spiral into irrelevancy so they don't /have/ to address it until she is a non-factor. Maybe in a few years we'll get Ariana to open up about how sad and difficult it was to witness, but Madonna never really gave me the impression she had a deep friendship with Nicki. She had respect for her when she was one of the leaders of her craft, but that hasn't been true in 10 years now, so I don't see Madonna addressing her. Not gonna lie the immediate conflation of all surrogacy with exploitation of poor women seems like a wedge issue to cause divisions among typically unified voter blocs over an issue with doesn't massively impact society as a whole (as in what percent of gay couples can afford and are exploring surrogacy, compared to straight couples?). Not to mention i've heard far more horror stories of straight cis women being weird and abusive to their surrogates. I never saw this conversation being pushed until Elon took over X, and it's always accounts from Spain where it's illegal that are tweeting about how evil surrogacy supposedly is. I'm not falling for this psyop that's supposed to make people pretend gay men are selfish as a whole for ever wanting a biological child. If your argument was no one should be allowed surrogacy or any pregnancy period, gay or straight, until climate change is thoroughly addressed and the heating of our planet is reversed, then that's where I will side with you.
