Easily her best album! I wasn't crazy about MOTY or Hammer but they make much more sense in the context of the album. We are so back :jonny:

      I believe Melodrama remains her magnum opus, but Virgin sounds absolutely incredible. It's the Lorde we know, yet it also feels incredibly refreshing. In Hammer, she mentioned, "I might be born again,

    David's outro really compliments Hammer's intro. A great loop! Perfect for us who will be listening to it in full over and over again!!

    That's the downside of being a true artist. She overshares. But let's be honest, we'd never know which tape she was referring to if she never talked about that to Rolling Stone. At this point, it's whatever because "Current Affairs" is literally one of the best on the album.

    Doesn't the actual lyric re-contextualise this whole saga? Isn't the point that the tape itself, the experience she watched, felt authentic and truthful at the time but the 'film came out' (the tape was leaked) and the experience was transformed into something false and ugly, just like the eroding relationship Lorde is singing about on the rest of the song?
