Not to compare unnecessarily but yeah the sound on this and subject matter… might be my fave since her debut omg

this is the true sequel to Melodrama. i think uptempo girlies will prefer this over Melodrama

Solar Plexus

Excellent. Immediately heaps better than SP (which I like) and perhaps her best work yet. I think her vocals are what impressed me the most on this, they have grown a lot. Working with Jim-E was perfect, he and the other collaborators give her exactly what she needed on here. The flow is flawless, each song offers something interesting, the hooks are incredible... I have honestly no notes. It's pretty much perfect on arrival.

Shapeshifter and David are best tracks for me for now

Man of the year and hammer are kind of the weakest songs on the album 

EVERYONE having different favs is such a green flag omfg 

Shapeshifter is good, Current Affairs is good, ISCSMN is good, David is an okay closer. It's an okay pop album, but I need a few listens cause I'm not feeling her yet.

Good album - thankfully the album tracks are stronger than the singles! Shapeshifter, Current Affairs, and If She Could See Me Now are my favourites.

The singles were SO misleading (and I'd argue poorly chosen). This album is excellent.

Man of the Year is sooo good i'm shocked at the lukewarm reception it got, totally clicked in the album experience

Amazing album, need to let it simmer a bit before I give a final judgement, but my top 3 based on first listen:

1. Current Affairs
2. Favourite Daughter
3. David

Broken Glass is immaculate.

Can't say I'm super blown away on first listen but I could definitely see myself loving this once it grows on me. Whoever said it's her Motomami really nailed it. Really bad single picks, she fumbled.

This was just insane

 

I'm a sucker for upbeat but the sounds on this album are amazing. She made minimalist sound so exciting and fun rather than boring and undercooked. Her lyrics and gorgeous melodies on these fun weird sounds… something about it just rly captured me
