We’ve known literally her entire career and got official confirmation with the Miss Americana doc—not being liked, believed, or taken seriously gets to her. While I also agree that someone of her status really shouldn’t worry about it, I do think it’s also very relatable. Everyone wants to be liked, everyone wants their side of a story to be believed, and everyone wants to be taken seriously as a person/professional. I think she’s grown and doesn’t let it bother her as much anymore, but it always will to some extent. Same goes for the Scott/Scooter situation.

The issue I have with Haunted is you can tell she is at her vocal limits throughout the ENTIRE song. But that almost gives it a charm of sorts? Feels almost Evanescence esque but still...the struggle is THERE. I cannot wait to hear it re recorded now that she has stronger vocals. It will be A COLLAPSE.

I don't think it's possible for a human to experience that level of dog-piling without getting some pretty hefty emotional scars. And that goes for any celebrity that has experienced online hate

 

Someone on twitter will post a bad take or stupid comment and get quote-retweeted by a dozen to a hundred people making fun of them, and many will have to either take a temporary break from social media or quit the platform all together. I can't fathom what that type of scrutiny would be like on a scale exponentially bigger  

 

There are plenty of celebs that have quit social media or dramatically reduced their exposure to the public cuz people are nasty and awful. It's unfortunate that Taylor can't even really talk about her experience (never mind make a harmless joke in a speech)  without being accused of perpetuating her "victimhood" (whatever that means) or having the experienced downplayed by people who would fold over like a house of cards if even a handful of people made fun of them online

Completely agree. I also think the way she briefly mentioned 2016 with the wine joke at the end was proof of her growth (despite what OTHs say). 4-5 years ago I think she would’ve either glossed over it completely, or dedicated an entire tangent to those who wronged her. Instead, she spent 10 seconds on it and ended with a joke, and I think that says a lot considering how it effected her, even to this day.
