Well... the remaining album tracks are nice, but they're not killer tracks like the singles

I wish she would kept the imagery of Aquamarine for the whole campaign tho

Money is Everything is her first dull

Yeah it would, it doesn't sound like nothing on the album. I Got It Bad sounds too clear if it makes sense, the songs on the album have a very atmospheric production is almost like you're drowning in sound.

The vocal production blows her EP out of the water but if you're not that much of an audiophile it's fine!

btw does anyone know roughly how many tracks she recorded with Luka and Elvira for this I dont remember if shes mentioned it but Im curious abt their process of getting to the final tracklist (I wanna say I feel like they were set on most of it? but idk I only remember this which doesnt say anything since she seemed to avoid mentioning the ALBUM til then)

 

The first thing that i wanna say is that, im a little disappointed bc i thought we're gonna get 7 new songs to discover and not only five. After my first listen, i deduce that addison release the best songs as singles and those new ones are here to make the album cohesive and i see addison's desire to really give so much energy and show us the sound she wanna reach with all these chill and floaty vibes. All the singles were a HUGE Surprise to me, i hoped to me even more surprised with the album but its still excellent. TIMES LIKE THESE is crazyyyyy, i am truly gagged!!

new york should've been more clubby but its cute. Summer forever and In the rain are so dreamy 🥰 also the whole vibe of the album reminds me very much of Selena Gomez, Britney and Tinashe.

 

maybe it should have been longer but anyway, im gonna the stream this album on repeat for months!!

Such a smooth listen from start to finish. Very cohesive piece of work

 

Standout from first listen is Summer Forever (except the singles)

I still like it a lot but I'm just not too keen on the softer Lana inspired aspect of this album.

The only complaint is it's way too short. 12 songs with 2 interludes and basically 1 intro; and we already heard 5 songs

Ok so, this is myy track by track impressions:

 

New York - It's a perfect opening. I think it's the perfect mix of pure pop with the disruptive sound we can hear at times on the album and sets the tone for it. I don't think it would work as a single, but as an intro it's the best pick for it. It's so unfortunately short and might be a lil repetitive... just wish they did a lil more to it. 9/10

 

Diet Pepsi - a classic and a perfect choice for a lead. 10/10

 

Money is Everything - A mess. I liked the LQ snippet but hearing in HQ was ... meh. It feels out of place sonically and lyrically and would've been one of those tracks we hear on Telegram as a leaked outtake that we are glad that didn't make the album, but somehow this one made it. I do appreciate the trappy vibes but i could totally live without that one. 5/10

 

Aquamarine - Now we're back! This one is perfect. I love the production since day one and everytime i hear it i feel like i'm the baddest ***** walking around Paris. The video is iconic. Love the ethereal vibes. 10/10

 

Lost & Found - This works as a perfect bridge between Aquamarine and High Fashion; it has Aqua elements while it sets the tone for HF. There's nothing to say about it other than that since it's just an interlude 10/10

 

High Fashion - Still is the best song on the album and might be my favorite song she's ever recorded. The perfect mix of alt with R&B and synthpop; the way the video shows a perfect popstar kinda losing herself and the music following those vibes; it sounds so unique, so disruptive, i just love everything about it. I often see people placing this one as their least favorite single, but for me it's quite the opposite (and for Addison too since she already said it's her favorite ) 10/10

 

Summer Forever - Another PERFECT song and the 2nd best song on the album for me. It's 100% Lana inspired but with a nice Addison touch in here. I just love the melody, the vibe, the instrumental, everything. It's been on repeat all day long and i hope for a video soon cause it deserves it 10/10

 

In the Rain - I love the production and the melody, but it's the most forgettable song on the album and i think it'll be deeply underrated. It's the closest to a filler we have in here but that's bc the other songs are too strong. 8/10

 

Fame is a Gun - Another classic for miss Rae and def top 3 on the album! 10/10

 

Times Like These - At first i thought it was cute but the song was winning me over throughout it. I started thinking "oh, this is cute" while it started to become better and better. This reminds me of Madonna's Music album. I can't wait for the video 10/10

 

Life's No Fun - I love this interlude and been wanting it in full ever since the HO video (you can check on the single thread)  it's so dreamy and i'm glad it made on the tracklist 10/10

 

Headphones On - A perfect closer to a perfect album 10/10

 

This is kinda perfect. If it wasn't for Money is Everything this album would be 100/100 for real. Obviously the strongest tracks are still the singles but at this point they made more than half of the album (not counting the interludes) so there's nothing we can do about it 

 

The inspirations are pretty clear: Madonna, Lana, Britney, yet she made her own sound and crafted a vibe that feels so unique. It doesn't sound or feel cheap, you can tell where it's coming from but at the same time understand that it doesn't feel like a poorly made tribute. The production compliments her vocals and she can definitely put on a show performing these songs live.

 

I think Times Like These would be the perfect ending for the album but I understand why she chose Headphones On

it's an incredibly strong debut, a true body of work. the vision and effort from the 3 of them really shine through, Addison should be extremely proud of how solid it is. but even just the 5 singles were enough to prove how great it is tbh

 

I like Headphones on because it's very Madonna's Inside of me, and wanted to check this album out, but seeing it's only 33 minutes long, I'm not gonna bother. That's not an album.
