I agree with you guys. I don't understand how they think this is FIRST SINGLE off new album era worthy?! It's not as bad as the last two but just not what I was expecting! I think they just aren't making the best choices with her voice and connecting it with the right songs/producers. It's a good album track at best.

the production is terrible, Never Really Over with a bit of everything that has been done to dead in the last 10+ years.

Cirkut is not anymore, and it's impossible that she could work with him again (it's her ex boyfriend and he cheated Ava with her best friend).

 

Anyways, i don't think that Pink Slip production is bad, but i agree with u saying that the era hasn't been cohesive.

 

I hope this song is her revival, cuz she has the potential to make big things in music, she keeps trying at least!

I do agree the mixing is slightly rough and when the music video premiered the sound was so awkward, the Spotify listen is good enough though and it's not really an issue for me.

It's a cute little bop; just happy we got a video with song release, and that it does appear we're moving into the next era.

The song could've shone bright with layered vocals and fresh production. Now that there's no Cirkut maybe branch out and explore things outside of what you're used to instead of finding a similar sound.

I think it's hard to move to a new sound, specially cuz she has made so many songs with Cirkut, but obviously she needs to move on!
