I don't think her behavior justifies anyone calling her a sl*t or sending her vitriolic hate, I do think some of the things she does come across quite forced and cheap though. I think she shouldn't be immune to the same criticisms Sexy Redd gets.

Majority of the video is about the response she's getting from radical feminists,not conservatives.

My generation has been duped into supporting conservative agendas through the co-opting of progressive language. It's not just a woman thing(they have it Infinitely worse though, to be clear), gen-z is repulsed by sexual displays of any kind and if you press them about it you'll get paragraphs of woke word salad that use smoke and mirrors to try and disguise the core message that sex = bad in all scenarios because it's shameful and inherently predatory.

 

This isn't the only major social issue we've been duped with either, rainbow capitalism discourse was a right wing plot to make us turn on allies, the peak of CA discourse lost all nuance and verged on calling for resegregation, etc.

I am not turned off by the sexuality of what she is doing but more so on how corny and cringy it is.   She is turning herself into a one trick pony.   

there's a lot of pop stars that are able to pull off overt sexuality … no one (save conservetards/incels) calls Rihanna a wh*re for her music.. she's effortlessly sexy and it was a natural progression for her

 

i realize that Sabrina is actually much deeper into her music career than most of the general public realizes , but Espresso was a pretty innocuous, inoffensive song and that was a lot of people's entry into her music. so for a lot of her image after that to be this shticky, hyper sexual thing it's probably a bit jarring. i also just find it to be corny from her idk like it always just seems like she's trying to reach a new level of crassness / horny in her music/image/live performances.. it's a race to the bottom imo

 

im a proponent of sexual liberation for women, but i do think the way Sabrina has went about it to be a lil …. forced. even if it is actually authentic to her, it's a performance that already feels very tired.

god forbid a young woman be confident and playful in her sexuality and actually enjoy it

That's so true. I watched Pretty Woman for the first time and was shocked how sexual it was. It was the fifth-highest-grossing film of all time worldwide by the time it was released in 1990. There is no way that such a film would make so much money in today's climate and today's blockbusters became so sexless, even though we "progressed" so much from the 90s.

If Sabrina wants to be naked or wear limited clothing or sing about ******* or actually do ******* on stage, she should be allowed to. 

Male artists do this all the time and no one is writing thinkpieces or making videos about how 'scandalous' it is. 

what sabrina does is so obviously in jest. how is it not obvious to these people that her entire schtick is parodying the hypersexual pop star trope? pop music/performances are supposed to be unserious and fun! like imagine creating a video essay on sabrina carpenter of all people omg it's not that deep mama…
