pleasantly surprised  loved the balladier moments and loooove her work with cardiak. makes me miss h.e.r.

Oh this was great. Hit You Where It Hurts definitely caught my attention the most on first listen 

Best R&B Album contender!

 

On Sight is so good

 

From all the songs that could've been singles she chose the absolute worst lmao this album is such a great body of work. Not a single skip. Truly great

This indeed has some pretty H.E.R. influences. AEOMG sounds like Wait For It a little bit. 

i can't wait to listen i needed a new r&b album to stan

this was really disappointing imo. Not a lot of standouts and it doesn't really try to reinvent the wheel either, which is a shame because her voice is absolutely gorgeous but the majority of these songs are simply not captivating or even waste her vocal potential. Same problem as In Pieces.

Mid. Still love her though. 

Well this album won't go anywhere. But she sounded great.

 

Her EP was more interesting sonically.

I think this is a cute spring chill album, the standouts to me are:

 

On Sight

AEOMG

Thang 4 U

FDHLB

 

ICU remains unbothered though at the top of her catalog.

After hearing the singles, this album was exactly what I expected from Coco tbh. My faves on first listen were Keep It Quiet, On Sight & AEOMG.

I have to listen more to this but, so far, I think Here We Go (Uh Oh) is the best song on the album.

 

Other instant highlights for me are Other Side Of Love and By Myself.

 

Keep It Quiet and Hit Where It Hurts have great potential too.

 

Why Not More reminds me of Melanie Fiona and You has grown on me.

 

I had high expectations so I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed. I thought this could top Muni Long's Revenge as the best R&B album in a long time for me but Muni remains untouched.

 

I think she kept it very safe with her vocals. I was expecting some wow vocal moments that never came. It's a shame since she's one of the few that could deliver belts, riffs and runs amongs the new R&B girls.

 

Yeah I was expecting more from this tbh . It's nice and there's a few songs I'll keep but I think she's much better than this and I preferred her EP a lot more .

It's not unlistenable or bad in the sense that the production is bad, but I think the overall sentiment is for someone with her talent she made a middle of the road album that doesn't push the needle in making her stand out

Cute debut but I liked her EP better. 

I needed to read about Coco Jones because I don't know about her in details. I was surprised to hear the amount of hardship she went through, that she was at Disney, and that she is now, at the age of 27, releasing her debut. She's persevering, and kudos to her. 

 

album: i liked the cover, but book you get with it its just a collage of bunch of pictures thrown together. also sweet it up single cover picture was included, but not the song? 

 

as an album i think its solid, not ground breaking, but not horrible either, much better than in pieces as someone compared it to here.

instant favorites: ON SIGHT, Thang 4 u, By Myself, AEOMG, hit u where it hurts + singles ofcourse (about the singles here we go its giving jazmine sullivan to me)

snoozefest: other side of love

ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS SONG: most beautiful design and solely because of lazy future verses that are basically majority of the song, I have no idea why was that included from the sonic point of view, i get name future will get attention (i hate it), but his verse is like him talking all lazily, speaking nonsense thats contradicting each other, one verse he doesnt want to be womanizer, another verse hes buying pucci to a chick, and worst of all most beautiful design doesnt lay on the beat and he tries to say it as fast as he can to fit it and its scrumble mass and unplesant to ears

disappointment: why not more, i wish she gave more than basic on here

 

so all in all i like a lot of songs + video she dropped for on sight is cute

 

ill now check interviews... i really hope shell get attention she deserves, but idk what to say can she with mid material

 

 

 

 

 

 

Thang 4 U is the one. No idea why it wasn't a single, they should push it.

 

The album is not very strong. She can do better. I don't know if it's a matter of bad A&Rs or if it's actually that hard to find creatives that can write good r&b but these girls are too talented to be putting out collections of fillers.
