Ashniko. What went wrong?

Featured Replies

As you all know, many people were hyping up this Ashnikko girl as one of the next big things years ago, but she didn't really go anywhere.

What went wrong?

I personally like her aesthetics, but her music was always too "urban" for my pop taste :giraffe:, and I think she's a bit try-hard
That turned me off from staning her

Well you see, it all started when she had the nerve to delete the Plastic Doll bridge on her remix, an unforgivable sin

I kinda liked some of her songs back in the day 😭   I think shes simply too weird to have any chance of a commercial breakthrough.

no cause why did this make me appreciate the mega smash that was Daisy omfg…. Oh Ashnikko, you ate that

The actual good songs were few and far between. On the mixtape only the singles were cute and the album was trash all around. She has a few bops, though.

I feel she's just had a bit of a resurgence with the Arcane song

I legit only know her from this remix.

Her urban pop sound with Grimes-like aesthetics is incredibly niche so it's not really a surprise she never truly blew up.

Wait. This is hot :gaycat4:

Nothing went wrong, she's still doing her thing as far as I'm aware. I don't think any serious person ever thought she was going to be some kind of mainstream superstar

I always thought there was a raw talent there with her but she lets her more annoying and corny qualities get in the way most of the time. She's got more smashes in her if she writes for others imo.

"What went wrong"?... Everything's going just fine for her... She has her niche, she's doing her thing, has a loyal fanbase and goes on sold out tours. I wouldn't worry!

I mean her sound is very niche.

I enjoy you make me sick and her collab with Ethel Cain. She'll always have a queer following

Daisy 2.0 is my bop but ngl shes corny and try hard. She one of those "vibe" artists that have a certain aesthetic that gravitates towards certain people.
