As if gen 2 didnt have its fair share of Interesting GG's that either floped entirely or only had a hit/semi -hit (Dal shabet, 9muses, rainbow, Crayon pop etc)

 

Also gen 3 had groups like Dreamcatcher who surprisingly stand the test of time. Loona just didnt connect with the GG and thats all. 

 

Now, these alternate timeline theories are always gonna fell flat tbh

Second gen had many semi successful groups though, Exid, Girls days, AOA, Secret, Afterschool. However in gen 3, only TWICE, BP, RV, Gfriend and later on OMG got hits. And tbh Gfriend's last gp hit was in 2018,  while OMG got 3 hits lol.

So what if it is an English song? Most kpop girl groups wish they had a Better Things or Hold On Tight pfft. At the end of the day we're still getting new music which is all I care about. They're clearly still a priority for SM since they're one of their most successful acts. Watch this one off single be a smash and they're gonna bump up their mini release or make it a full length who knows. I'm only okay with this because it's very transparent that the girls are being overworked so if this gives them a break I'm here for it. Success will follow them regardless especially if the quality is still there.
