We like our faves so we tend to like the way they perform, so what's a "fine" performance for fans might be bad for non fans and so I wish we wouldn't dismiss all criticism as hate.

Meh we can agree to disagree. People still overreacted. I've been watching GMA performances since I was little and all in studio performances are awkward. The stage is small and there's zero production value. The only decent performances they've had on that show have been the outdoor series. Like I've said before, companies need to stop sending idols over there. Kpop target audience doesn't even watch GMA. 
 

I can get criticism for a string of bad performances sure but 1 performance out of what over 10? Gawd forbid if a kpop group has a bad day.

We'll never see a K-pop group do that most of the time. But they should at least use pre-recorded vocals or a tuned mic. The average person can't tell that a tuned mic is fake (see: VMAs 2025).
