Like the song was written, produced, video filmed and you're telling me it's a japensese exclusive? As a label they want business right? Wouldn't it be smart to have them promote and perform their Japanese songs too? That's way it just secures more popularity and success for the song and the girls? Yes, but they thing is that there's a 3rd party involved through their Japanese releases aka the label that controls their Japanese schedules. Japan in general is very strict with copyright especially when it involves their media outside of Japan. Though if Kpop acts wanna promote those Japanese original songs globally, they can change the language and release those songs in Korean as well instead, which is what most groups do. 

 

Kpop acts are releasing music in Japanese to simply target the Japanese market only, and those releases aren't really thought to be for global consumption, since they already have their Korean or English songs for that.

The Japanese market is so big and important for Kpop acts, hence why they are willing to invest so much into their Japanese exclusive releases. A lot of Kpop acts make more profit in Japan alone, than they do with the rest of the world combined.
